Dear friends, anyone knows about item identifier number that takes effect on 29 June?
 

Does anyone know about new update that will take effect on the 29 of June, for all sellers, to put identifier number for each item you list on eBay, could someone explain how that works please? Because I got kinda confused, my items do not have any identifier numbers on it. On update page says without that number you can't list any items? Only vintage, Preowned items can list as is. Is that true? Will that effect on jewelry category too? eBay makes "Selling" impossible, with all new updates it's harder and harder to sell on eBay, I am just giving up, with 10.000$ merchandise at home.

They are fighting phakes with this. Sellers should be a bit more creative from this point.

yea they are talkin about the positives how itll be easier to find ...lol ok but whatever....yea^^^ I do believe its to put a halt on ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and with all that extra info they ask for like the upc, mpn, etc.. it seems more geared toward electronics but pretty much all things have a upc almost like amazon but I think ebay will create a proactive effort with this to fight ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ........... only time will tell

I wonder where can I find a MPN for a generic phone case, that comes without a box, and is generic from the very start.

Most items will have a UPC code, if u go to the dollar store those items are all generic and u can find cheap phone cases they have UPC code

If you purchase something without a box or case or any tag u will need to,list as used, but not sure where u would buy cases at that are new with no UPC codes

From what I understand they are trying to stop people from selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items with this, but I don't think it will have much of an effect because there are a lot UPC code databases online in which you can find pretty much any UPC code you want. Also, it will be very easy to to go on another seller's listing and find the UPC code from there. Only time will tell.

Also, this only affects BRANDED items in certain categories. From what I understand, ff you sell generic, unbranded items, they will not require you to list a UPC code.

Not sure what would stop people from getting UPC in a legit way.
We sell products on Amazon that are unique. Some are handmade
and none of them is similar to the other.
We have a unique UPC code to each of our products. I don't know
about sellers outside the USA, but there are several cheap sources
to get high quality UPC codes for your products (by high quality I
mean that they are not recycled).

I,don't see this being an issue, you can purchase legit UPC codes online and get them instantly , just a part of business

Does anyone know for sure what categories are effected? If I remember correctly it was only certain items that required this.

This is irrelevant on all fronts.

First, you can EASILY find UPC codes on Amazon or even eBay, if not, then in online UPC databases.

Failing that (if your product is handmade, as some have mentioned) you can purchase UPC codes on eBay itself! You heard me right. As cheap as 99 cents for 5. LOL it's not hard guys.....
