Going on a cruise

Hello, I am going on a cruise to the bahammas. I have my jetpack and phone to tether set up for the boat and international roaming so I can check my 2 major accounts (an ebay and amazon on each connection, everything is FBA, so all my inventory will ship and run as usually, FBA ships my ebay orders for each account) once in the morning with my 2 laptops. I am wondering will their be any IP issues. I use these 2 connections in the US for these accounts.

could be an issue because your IP is no in the USA.

Look into a VPS or VPN service. I like 24vc.com if you want more info you can contact member 123 in the market place.

Look into using Teamviewer.
Will make your life a slot simpler.

but how do you deal with the ip issue in that case?

Re: Going on a cruise

With Teamviewer youll be controlling your home computer from anywhere. This means The IP is not an issue because in essence you never leave your home as far as ebay is concerned.

Re: Going on a cruise

My 2 major accounts which I have seperate internet and laptops for and run a ebay/amazon on each computer under their own llc's are on autopilot, all orders are fulfilled through fba. I can use my phone's email to respond to questions, etc, im just wondering about if any return requests, etc are opened, how I can respond to them. I guess I can always put the ebay stores auto response on we will be out of the office until xx date. Maybe I can just pay for the wifi on the ship that way I can respond to amazon messages and ebay messages through my phone app because you only have 24 hours with amazon. I do not want to put my ebay stores on vacation as I here stories of when they come back their sales are not the same.

How long is the cruise?

Re: Going on a cruise

I went on one last summer (and going again this year too :FF:).

The ship's WIFI was cr@p and there was no 3G signal (or any signal for that matter) once you are a few miles offshore. Had to do all my business whilst "in port".

What exactly did you use for an Internet connection these are my two big accounts and we do over 1 million in sales annually with these two alone and really worried about not being able to respond to messages etc. to customers I know several years ago when I was at the Bahamas Senior frogs had Wi-Fi. But I don't think that's a good idea to go log into anything like that I have no problem paying the fee to use data on my phone and my jet pack as I would like to just log in each morning to check messages and also into ship station to submit my orders to have them processed

Only used the ships WiFi to check PMs from here.

I never logged into any accounts - only the emails for them in case there was a "where is my item" question. When I had to check emails, I used a 3G connection on my phone which has a dynamic IP.

I go on holiday to relax - not to work. I hope you find a solution. :)

Thanks that's what I was thinking I can just respond to any emails through 3G connection using the mail app on my phone from going on a couple days if there's any cases or anything like that open I should have enough time until I get back to respond to them. As I said before these accounts are pretty much on autopilot really just login in the mornings for about 5 to 10 minutes for checking emails etc. other than that there's nothing to do

Good stuff.

There's much more serious matters to worry about when you go on a cruise, like whether to have 6 or 7 courses for dinner. ;)

Do yourself a big favor.

Check reviews of the cruise line and see if anyone has commented on the suitability ( or otherwise) of internet access for the ship you will be sailing on.

It is a frequent complaint that internet access is not good AND very very expensive for the services offered.

Better to check your options in advance than get on board and be without the ability to cover your own business.

Hope you can find something to work.
