Return address used for stealth acct
 

Hi

I am wondering what happens in the case an item gets returned due to the buyer;s incorrect address.
I know I will not accept returns..just refund them and spare them from returning the item, but I have had a handful of packages returned to sender.

Let's say my stealth account is some business address or some out of business address. What happens to the package?

Do they look at the actual postage stamp and return it to my hometown PO?
My PO people know me and could ID the package instantly.

Isn't this mail fraud (a federal offense)

IF it ever got back , what could one possible say?

I was doing mail for a non existent, dead guy?
Oh I was just using a stealth ebay account?

If you print your own postage, you can put whatever return address you like on the package and eBay will not see it.

You can always leave a label for your return address inside the package when you send it off.

I'm not worried about EBAY seeing it.
I am worried about using the USPS to send a pacjage w a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and or address.
WHat happens if it gets returned to that sender who is dead, doesn't exist or gets left at the right address ...

or does the USPS return it to my town when they see where the real post mark is from

leaving a label inside doesn't help if the package is returned due to the customer having a wrong shipping address

You can put Whatever address you like on the package. eBay CANNOT see it. That way, you are not breaking any USPS rules.

what the hell does ebay have to do w the USPS?

so using a false name and address on mail is ok in USPS eyes??

For the most part the USPS isn't checking return addresses....unless the package you shipped out is being sent back.

If you use Stamps.com to print Shipping Labels you can put ANY address you want on the return address portion.
