My best GUESS would be that most people selling online as a full-time job make between $50,000 - $100,000 per year. Part-timers probably average $10,000 - $20,000.

I am talking PROFITS, not GROSS SALES. And they are just my GUESSES for averages. We have some forum members making more and some making less. It depends on how much time you put into this, how much research, how many accounts you have, what you sell and where you sell.

Yeah, I STILL see these infomercials sometimes. In my area there is a real estate flipper one that was running CONSTANTLY this weekend. I cannot believe that people fall for this crap.

When making money, it also depends where you live. I knew a person who made pretty good at selling at swap meets, sometimes online, but his expenses were next to nothing compared with me living in medium size city. He lived out in the swamp outside of New Orleans. he mostly lived off the land, his truck was over 40 years old and still going. he was happy in what he did and how he lived, he died last year at the age of 83.

in the end, he was happy and that is what counts the most.

I've made this thread on a few other forums and it was about 20 pages long, with people posting screenshots of their limits/paypal balance/sales etc. It was pretty interesting. Every once in a while someone would share a good supplier. It was just a fun thread with very helpful people. I was hoping for the same results on this forum. What a mistake that was.

Those people are VERY ignorant in doing so and this is based on my experience here on this forum full of professional sellers.

I post one small hint of what I am doing and get 20 PMs asking is they can work for me, what I am selling etc..

Is that how you get your suppliers....you go from one forum to another hoping some sucker gives up their supplier?

We have lots of fun on this forum without having to give you information that doesn't need to be shared.

Unfortunately for you, we just simply aren't that dumb here.

Not only does me showing you all of my business operations and finances have absolutely nothing to do with steal/thing, but you come with nothing and expect all of us to just hand you everything. Then you get mad because we aren't as dumb as other people willing to do so. You're more than welcome to go back to those other forums, but you obviously came here for a reason.

I could just go into Photoshop, fabricate a bunch of crazy numbers and products and then post them here. Would this satisfy you? After all, you'd have no clue if I was telling the truth or not, but I suppose you'd be motivated to get off your lazy a$$ and sell something...maybe?

As I said: Either you're making enough to support the lifestyle you desire, or not. What we're making has NOTHING to do with that.

Find your own suppliers. Quit trying to con others into doing YOUR work.

This forum is about how to run eBay and Amazon accounts anonymously. Most people here couldn't care less about measuring their junk compared to yours. We're all here to make money and to keep one step ahead from the powers that seek to remove us from the equation.

If you want your ego stroked and feel-good "you go girl!" encouragement, go to the Warrior forums, I hear they love bragging about how successful they are. LOL

There are people making 5 dollars a day, and there are people making 7 figures annually.

Which catagory YOU end up in has NOTHING to do with what the members of this forum are selling or how they run their businesses. It's entirely up to how much work YOU PERSONALLY put into your business, what product you sell, what your margins are, how you run your accounts, what postage discounts you take advantage of....etc etc etc...

Quit looking for a free lunch. Multiple members have told you MULTIPLE times that your queries will NOT be answered. If you want someones business secrets, go to another forum and con some idiots. These aren't the droids you're looking for.

It's implied that you're looking for more than just operating figures.

Aside from that, most people are keenly aware it's considered rude in most parts of America to discuss finances.

"A rich man doesn't need to tell you he's rich."

The reason you're not making enough money is because you're far to focused on what someone else is doing. Focus on YOU and YOUR BUSINESS and you'll start making the money you desire. Until you do that, you'll always be wishing you were making more.

It's the same concept as looking at a fitness model, and wishing "man, I wish I could look like that." You use that model as motivation, and do work in the gym.

If you are having a lot of success with eBay and are proud of it, why not show others what they COULD achieve if they put in the work. It's nice to see the destination before you start the journey.

So what your reiterating is can someone tell me what product is selling well so I can copy the idea & make money too without picking up the phone and making phone calls, paying a professional for their services (attorney,consultant,CPA,Dropshipper,etc). It's the weekend but some friendly advice would be too perhaps do some research and find out what works for you everyone is different not just on here but everywhere.

I get people not giving their suppliers and niches up, that's wasn't what was asked.

But I don't see why people are so scared to say something like I'm earning 300 a month, or 1000 a month, or 5000 a month, etc.

I'm personally making about £700 profit a month over about 400 sales. I'm quite happy as its only about 5-10 hours work a week (depending on how much time I put into research etc) . Ony one main nich and according to terapeak I'm by far the best seller on ebay and cant grow it much more. So now I need at least another 10 hours a week in research to double it with a 2nd category.

In the mean time I'm trying to branch out with stocking up from car boots but only made the odd £100.

Apparent success on the forum certainly inspired me when I started looking into this ebay idea. Somehow I came across this forum from google searching, and seeing people with dozens of accounts selling hundreds of items a month is what made me realise how easily achievable the possibilities are.

Then again the likes of a high profile recently banned member gave me lots of inspiration. It was a little knockback to realise it was all most likey bs.

Because this question eventually leads to more questions such as, What do you sell?, Where do you get your merchandise? etc....and frankly the question has been asked a ton of times! Are people suppose to be answering the same damn question over and over and over? It get's old.

What you think people buy is true they do but the main stream means allot if competition in the same caragory. Also what you do not think about people buy. They buy everything that's the point. As Jeff said. Be a business man. Set your goals and work to achieve them. The quick money is never a long term option. Slow and steady and build your brand and offerings. Slow and steady will get you in the fame with the big boys and still you ,at wind up shut down for no reason. Start many and spread your sales over many acts slow and steady.

I'm still considered a rookie. Started in January. The only thing from keeping your from making 50k plus in these businesses is the time/risk paradox. Once you invest a lot of time in finding niches and inventory control, the rest is an algo that eBay or Amazon has already done for you. I call it a money printer. You make what YOU put into it. Let's just say middle class is easily obtainable on the platforms and lower wealthy is right there in reach in terms of gross earnings a year with the right work ethic. If you hate wage slaving, let that be the fire that drives you. I know it does me.
