eBay and eCheque issue

Sold an item at ebay.com. Despite I do accept Paypal only a guy send me an eCheque. Meanwhile I opened a case against him and now I can close it.
I received another email from Paypal regarding his eCheque was denied by the bank. In my Paypal menu his payment is with "pending"status by the 4 of July.
This guy is messaging me almost every day asking for tracking number and so on.
One of lessons I learned from this forum is "the only thing prevents from negative feedback is stroke against the buyer"
Would he be able to leave negative while the case is open? I do not intend to send anything until receive the money.
I think this kind of mistake, rather than fraud attempt. He has 800+ feedback score.
Can I close the unpaid case and forget the whole story?

While the unpaid item case is open he cant rate you.

But if his payment clears he will be able to rate you.

Explain to the person they paid by cheque and you cannot send the item until payment is cleared.

Re: eBay and eCheque issue

Great news. Thank you. The case can not stay open forever. Once I forgot to close it and didn't receive final value credit.
Buyer bought the item on the 8th of May. The case is opened on the 14th.
Can not keep it that way till the 5ft of June.

Well if you go to the 'close case' option in the resolution centre it should tell you the date and time when you will be able to close the case.

Excuse my English. I can close it now. I am afraid of troubles concerning this eCheque. I guess he can open a case in Paypal after the 5th of June.

May this is the answer:
"If the buyer doesn't pay, you need to manually close the case in the Resolution Center within 36 days after the listing ended, in order to receive a final value fee credit.
If you haven't closed the case on the 37th day after the listing ended, we automatically close it and you won't receive a final value fee credit. Also, we won't record an unpaid item in the buyer's account."

But you said that you have already got the failed payment email from paypal?
Your paypal account may just be glitched/delayed with updating.

You can close the case if you like, but you should just keep checking your paypal account, if it does happen to clear (which i doubt) then you can refund them BEFORE they open a case on paypal.

The buyer would have also already received an email saying there payment has failed, so you can guess why they keep hounding you for there item :shhh:

Thanks for the advice Bunneh. You have been in a great use.

Yep definately dont ship it.

Also you may want to remove that attachment from the forum, as it has the transaction ID on it and you never know who is reading the forum which could cause risk to your accounts.
