Fighting a "Item not received" report

Hi,

guy filed an "ITEM NOT REC'D" on me.

I mailed the item <24 hours after the order and it took 14 days (thanks USPS) to arrive from 5 states away.

Tracking shows delivery.

How is it that I get a slam on my TRS report because he filed that? Any ideas on how to dispute and win? Tracking shows acceptance within a day or so of purchase, and delivery 14 days later.

What was the price of the items and was it signed for?

Under $40 and not signed for. But..........his dispute was registered before delivery. Shipped on Day 1, dispute Day 12, delivery on Day 14.

Since delivery he has not done anything including closing the dispute or trying to say it did not arrive.

Should I bait him into admitting he got it with an ebay message? I really don't think he was trying to steal it, he was just pi$$ed it too so long. He has <25 feedbacks and been on since 2011. He might not even know how to handle tracking.

I am afraid to reach out to him because he might remember it all and hit me with a bad feedback. It looks like he leaves feedback but never left a bad one before.

F-it, I have a 2% leeway in bad marks before I lose TRS so I am sitting pretty with this one, but edging closer to losing the discount.

LOOKEE LOOKEE what I just got:

Decision:
This case has been decided in your favor. The hold on this PayPal transaction has been removed.

Comments:
We received tracking information from you before or at the time the buyer opened the case that shows the item was delivered to the buyer's address. You don't need to do anything else. Because we decided in your favor, this case, any feedback left, and all detailed seller ratings left, will not affect your seller performance. In addition, any feedback left for this transaction will be removed. Note: It may take up to 24 hours for these updates to reflect in your Seller Dashboard.

Well that was pretty quickly resolved.
Good stuff. Especially the part about it not affecting your seller performance.
Im just wondering - does this still count as a defect? because they mention the DSR and feedback but not the fact that the case is a defect as soon as it is opened.

This is been pretty standard protocol for awhile now. If the buyer opens up an item not receive case, and it shows delivered ( to the zipcode on file), they will always close it in your favor, and you will not receive a defect, and or they will remove a defect.
