Buyer return to the wrong address, can you intercept it?

A buyer filed a return with the reason that the item is not NEW.. from the pictures he have provided, all I'm seeing are small dust particles at the bottom of the soles of the shoes. The problem is ebay automatically provided the return label and I currently don't have access to that address. Have anyone ever intercept a package with USPS and have it deliver to the correct address?

Ok, firstly I am talking from UK perspective, so might be similar in the US.

Sometimes if the "sender" contacts the courier, and it also depends on the "courier" as its at their discretion, you can have it sent to the correct address.

Sometimes, once delivery has failed, you can recipient can opt to have it delivered to a different address.

These are rare occasions and only a very few couriers comply to such requests. Most simply return back to sender.
