That's not exactly how you want to start, stock problems? you sold merchandise you didn't have in your hands?

How do you mess up on stock on the first sale?

Honestly I would just move onto the next account unless it's a high limit account.

Buyer feedback wouldn't help your SELLER PERFORMANCE but it may help your sales SLIGHTLY because your feedback percentage wouldn't be 0%

Sell lots of cheap items for quick feedback.

move on to next account... Your going to find it really tough winning the hearts of buyers to trust you, with not only no positive feedback, but -1 feedback.

I had this happen on my newest account. Sold a item and the buyer said I sent them a empty box. Was 129.00$ ....go figure.

PACKAGING WAS A+ TOO!

Don't waste your time. The chances of people buying from you with a negative feedback are slim to none. Even if you bought 4 items and go some positive feedbacks youre still looking at all negative feedbacks for 'selling' and an overall of 80% - which will prompt any potential buyer to have a look at your feedback and see that all the positives are from buying activities.
Cut your losses and move to the next account.

have you tried to work things out with the buyer? he can revise his feedback if you talk him into it sometimes its as easy as asking. if he agrees to it . I remember it is a link at bottom of most EB pages labeled sitemap click that the look for request feedback revision . But work it out with the buyer before you send it,cause you can only send a request once.. I would say this is the only hope to save the account . Well its a really bad start when EB does its monthly review... Well hopes this helps. sometimes its worth losing a few bucks on a deal to save a account

If you decide to go down the feedback revision route, dont approach the buyer now. Allow some time for the dust to settle. Usually by then they are calm enough to discuss what you have to offer.

Not polite to laugh at other peoples problems, but a negative on the FIRST sale? That's kinda hilarious.

It is a bummer though, I can just imagine the OP was really patient, made the account to perfection, and the last thing they expected - hit them right where it matters most!

If it was that, I would reiterate how important it is to be patient.
Wait for the stock to arrive, make sure its fit to be sold on ebay. Then sell it.

Patience tip: I know you will get hungry and impatient to start selling, we all do. But just go away and focus on another project. Dont engross yourself into a single project. Leads you to do things faster than you should i.e. listing item for sale, and you simply end up with a catastrophic outcome like this.
