What happens if Ebay and google will ever work together? Will I be linked?
 

Hello guys,

I have been wondering, If google ever buy Ebay, since my E.mails are all linked together somehow, does it means my entire accounts will be shutted down if google will buy Ebay?

Google will never buy eBay. Try contracting Google on a phone. Google hate customer support and eBay.

This about it. You can buy Apple products on eBay and Androids products as well. Then put Google in the picture, add no customer support to it also. Never happening. They are not trying to be the next Amazon.

Will never happen.
Google will open a competing service before buying ebay since they already have their own payment processing service in place.
But like rsot said - google hate the whole aspect of providing costumer service so I highly doubt that will ever happen.

I agree with others.. Google is known for automating customer support as much as possible or having poor customer support in general. They're more about serving up ads then running auction platforms. I wouldn't worry about Google buying eBay.

Google has publicly stated time after time, they are NOT INTERESTED in the online auction business.

Google IS interested in generating more advertising revenue. They are going to start placing buy buttons in their shopping section and also maybe in the search results. Many online retailers are freaking out about this. To be honest, I am watching this with interest ans a SLIGHT amount of nervousness.

I wouldn't worry about Google buying eBay. YAHOO, on the other hand, is likely to be in the running if eBay becomes a takeover target.

Edited to add: I DO believe that at some point eBay will be acquired by another company. Without PayPal, their revenue growth is almost ZERO. To fix that, they are going to need to be acquired by a partner that offers synergy. It is difficult to think of a more synergistic partner than a search portal - not Google, but one of the smaller search engines.

Does anyone have any insight on what life under Yahoo! rule would look like?

I know they had a brief entrance into the online shopping marketplace, but that was before I started selling online.

I sold on Yahoo Auctions. It wasn't bad, I never had a listing deleted. The only problem was, there weren't very many buyers. In the beginning, it was great! Not as great as eBay for sales, but it was a nice extra income. Toward the end, the buyers just disappeared. I don't remember what the Yahoo Wallet fees were, but they were reasonable.
