eBay Suspended & PayPal Limited Forums

Don't hold your breath. Nothing will immediately change. At least not that us end users will notice. I'm sure there is a bit of confusion and chaos at eBay and PayPal's offices today, but for us it will all be the same - business as usual.

There is a five year agreement in place between PayPal and eBay that will keep everything operating pretty much as it has been. Once that contract is up, THEN you will probably see some changes as both companies implement strategies they feel will be most beneficial to them. But for right now, I don't expect that anyone will notice any difference.

When the split becomes yesterdays news, thats when we are to expect subtle changes. Most likely it'll be so small changes that most people have time to adjust, because with companies like eBay and PP, you can't really rebrand the whole thing and go for a 180 change- Everything has to be subtle and they need time to analyze the feedback and their own performance during the change.

I'm rather chilled at the moment, I'll just cross the bridges when I get there and I hope that the bridges that I burn light the way in the future :)

No business as big as the two would do drastic changes the 1st year of a seperation like this..

One thing I noticed is that ebay changed the "all selling" page a bit. Under my sold listings it added a few lines of data, including the buyers zipcode and a "contact buyer" link. It wasnt there yesterday. More clutter, thats all.

Creating an account was pretty much the same, except I noticed PP has you enter a alpha/numeric code to make sure you are not a bot when you choose your email and password.

I noticed now it says Contact Seller below the buyer's name when they buy something from you. Other than that, nothing new.

Seems if you are printing labels through eBay, it now defaults to the address you have on PayPal.

All my printed labels had my old address on them today, since I never updated it on PayPal after I moved.
