Ebay needs to fix this very soon........

With Ebay's recent selling update with the $1 listing fee for 1 and 3 day auctions. I have had 6 non paying buyers and 1 buyer that informed me that they were not able to pay so I did a cancel transaction request afterwards with them.

And what do you know I received the final value fee's but I was still charged that stupid idiotic $1 listing duration fee when I didnt even receive payment from any of my buyers.

Its not big deal that I have lost $7 that I will never get back but when your pumping out 60-85 items a day like I am and you get people that dont pay it adds up real quick!

Does anyone know if there new silly selling update is permanent?

I absolutely HATE the $1 fee for 1 and 3 day auctions because if you have many accounts with shorter auctions its much easier to meet my quotas.

Its permanent.
Remember this is ebay meaning things will only move on one direction - against sellers.

The $1 listing duration fee dosent really bother me.

Its not getting the reimbursement of the $1 im out even after I close a case against a non paying buyer or after a buyer accepts a cancel transaction request that I send them.

slokor do you think ebay will ever reimburse sellers of this $1 charge even when they dont even get paid?

I dont list all of my auctions with the $1 listing charge either but there are certain items that need to be ended quickly.

They've always treated listing fees that way. Its never changed before and I don't see it changing in the future.

The $1 fee is here to stay. I agree, it should be refunded for non-paying buyers.

The $1 fee for 1 and 3 day listings should also be refunded if your item doesn't sell either.

If eBay is trying to get discourage short auctions and make them longer why under any logic would you get your fee back if an item doesn't sell. If your item doesn't sell and you get the fee back it defeats everything they are attempting to do.

The NPB and not getting the fee back is wrong.

Personally if I was advising eBay because they want to go back to being an auction site. If someone lists items 1 or 3 day starting at .99 cent then that $1 fee is waived because it is a real auction. The premium they have now is to force sellers to 5 to 10 days. (Personal gripe is longer the auction more NPB I usually get)

Just my perspective with regards to what they are doing.

I guess the reason you do not get your $1 back is in eBay's eyes you still listed/advertised the item.
Most listings get this (or similar) charge for listing/advertising an item on there platform whether it sells or not.

The only way to stop your $1 fee is lit your item an extra 2 days..

Much like you I agree with what you are saying. Personally I don't do those 1 or 3 day auctions. Unless there was only one bidder (only justification I could think of), if you got a NPB then it would seem wrong not to be reimbursed the fee. To your point and the one I made, it is clear eBay wants longer duration auctions.
