No, its the absolute worst thing you can do. Its not like the sellers are vetted or anything. Yes....yes its safe.

Umm...I dont know if I would personally send them WU. But the sellers here are approved by the forum owner, Aspkin. Should be safe to do a transaction with any seller ONLY in the Marketplace and if there is a green badge next to their name that says APPROVED SELLER

ANY seller here on this page. And if they scam you, let Aspkin know immediately...but that should not happen.

Trust will always be a factor.
BUT -
I think that the fact sellers are verified and the fact there is a feedback system in place should earn some of that trust.

Go to the sellers pages and communicate with them there - they have been verified by the bigboss here and are trustworthy.

If PayPal is an option given than its always best to use a credit card attached to your paypal that way you get 2 layers of security

The sellers here are safer than anywhere , but you should always use the safiest method when making any purchase, and that's with anything not just a purchase on this forum if available

WU was made for sending money to friends and family and not created for business use , so you have no protection against any loses , so I'd only use that if it were the only option available and I desperately needed whatever it was i was purchasing

Im surprised WU is accepted by sellers, since you have to fill out so much personal info when sending WU.

I have no idea what the sellers ask for here, but I know when u send funds via WU , the sender can send them and check off no ID necessary for receiver to pick up funds

So the receiver would just need the MTCN and could give the sender made up information as long as the sender specifies no ID required

Again WU is for transferring funds to friends and family and that option is their in case your helping a family/friend that may be far from home and had their wallet stolen and stranded with no cash or ID

But like anything else it is also used in the wrong manner

The no ID option can be used for payments under $1000 , anything over WU requires ID no matter what, but than u could send 2 payments instead of 1

Well when i send Moneygram or western union to my father they still ask for ID even though i select that, I still give them all my own info + his real info.
Yet he still gets asked for ID and proof of address to collect it & we both have the same last name.. so its a bit OTT for me and i would not risk it.

There is a special option that the sender needs to check off for the receiver not to need ID to collect the funds

If it's just filled out normally without the option than yes, you need ID and the MTCN

But if that option is checked you only need the MTCN, and when checking the option you should still tell the attendant to make sure to enter it in as no ID required, because even if u check it off on the form and the Attendant doesn't notice it than its whatever is entered in the computer

But both WU and MG have a no ID option for payments under $1000

I'd never use either service for a purchase, you are left with no protection because it is built for sending funds to family

Sweetpea i am not saying you are lying as you seem adament to make sure you are right. I am just saying regardless of ticking the box in the UK. When it reaches SA my father still gets asked for id.

Which is why i wont use it.

LOL exactly what I was thinking.

Use a credit card when you make your purchase. If you get scammed, report it to the mods and do a chargeback.

Be warned though: If you attempt to pull a scam here you will be banned with a quickness. (In other words, don't lie and say you didn't get your account when you did)
