Another question on Safe to Sell Items

Looking for some advice. Would a smart phone case, generic, be a safe item to sell?

No, Phone Cases of any sort are the worst of worst items to sell for 1st items!

Is there a point in time when I could start selling more risky items? How long should I wait?

Once you have built up some trust, you can start selling the riskier stuff. I would say 3-6 months depending on how many sales and positive feedbacks you have.

Generic phone cases are fine, but make sure they are HIGH QUALITY. The two issues most common to generic phone cases is poor quality and having a VERO member complain that your phone case - while not a counterfeit - has a design that is too close to theirs. I know it sounds absurd, but people have had generic cases seized by customs because they looked "too similar" to branded items.

That's something you're just going to have to test yourself depending on your performance rate and what specific item you're selling.

If you want to sell lots of phone cases... I'd wait at least 90 days and a GOOD selling history. But, the account would definitely have a higher risk of getting shut down than selling a different item.

I wait 3-4 weeks before selling "risky" items. During that time, I will already have sold a barrage of low risk items. Feedback is irrelevant.

WTF? Really...LOL. It's a freaking phone case! I can see a phone yes, but a case?

On my newest account, i had sold some very very high risk vero items for $350-$500 a pop. I started buying with the account first, 7 items, over 2 months. Then bam, listed 2 products - sold in 1 week. 2nd week - sold 2 more.
I was waiting to get nailed

1 week later after my last 2 sold, i get an email from ebay, stating my account has been temporarily suspended for 7 days due to selling unauthorized item. they provided the 2 links that they got me for, and stated they had removed them. The 2 links were to the first 2 products i had already sold and got the money for 2 weeks prior to the 7 day suspension

I think someone had reported them, and it took a while for ebay to get to them

My 7 days are up, i listed something else, but it's broken. I remember i would normally get the questionnaire from ebay before listing after a 7 day susp, but for the first time, i didn't see it. I'll wait another week or so, and list my high risk vero items again. By that time i figure i would get the final hammer, then start over...oh, the game

The sky's the limit for items you can sell. I usually try to sell stuff I use personally around the house so if I ever need something for my personal use I have it.

am not a fan of phone cases,

margins are terrible. too many people sell them. find something else that is worth your time.

Look, I'm all about bashing forum dogma, but you're going to far.

While I disagree that phone cases are "the worst of the worst" (thats a bit hyperbolous), they certainly shouldn't be among the first items you sell.

As you said, you received a temporary suspension for listing your high risk items. You didn't get away with it.

Skirting past an indefinite ban and getting off scot-free are two different things.

I never said "i got away with it". I am on their radar guaranteed, and i know that. I've had every account suspended indef for high risk vero items. I just open a new acct. and keep on pushing
