New Option When Leaving BUYER Feedback

I really hope this isnt another way to acrue defects. There is another option added when leaving buyer feedback. It is right below where you type your comments. It now says "Did you receive your item by XXXXXXXXXX ?" Buyer can choose YES or NO. So whatever the estimated delivery date ebay has for your item is the date that shows up there. If the buyer clicks NO...I hope it doesnt count as a defect. I have had a few times lately where my packages seem to go "missing" for a couple days, resulting in a "DELAYED" statud on USPS tracking page. Things like that are beyond the sellers control.

The answer is quite simple. Is the defect, anywhere in your seller dashboard? If not, then, there isn't a defect to be able to get.

If its not a defect and you get a few of them.. I'm sure a manual review would come into place.

Re: New Option When Leaving BUYER Feedback

I too have been having a lot of issues with USPS not scanning my packages for over 5 days at a time. I recently even resent a package because it looked to have been lost, without any movement in 10 days. I sent a new item, and the next day, the original package was delivered. Bull****. Oh well, lost $40. It's part of the game.

But to the topic at hand, I doubt any real effect will come of it as long as you are consistently meeting your Handling Time.

My customers have always been nice enough to send me back my product. Tell the guy to write " return to sender" on the package.

Some will, that's for sure. There are still 'decent' people in the world.

I already messaged the buyer and said he could keep the second package. But that is a good idea for the next time it happens. :) I guess I'm looking at it different, I quoted $40, when that is the price I sell my items at, while the actual cost for me to produce it was like.. $3. So, I'll be fine to let this slide lol

Same crap just happened to me. Package was "lost" for 3 weeks. The customer contacted me and I shipped a replacement the next day right before I get a message she just received the lost package. I've had a few in the past month just stop tracking and all it shows is "delayed". Obviously machines are eating packages as well. (i've had a few of those come back to me).

Did you intercept the 2nd package?

Whether there is a slot for it in the seller dashboard or not, it doesn't mean that it doesn't count against you. It could very well tie into your shipping time rating. The option is there...ebay is collecting that data for sure. It will be used against you if you don't meet the estimated delivery date over a certain number of transactions. You can bet on that.

Maybe and maybe not. It COULD BE that eBay is trying to get a handle on USPS delays to improve their estimated dates for delivery. Yes, they can always use it as an excuse to beat up sellers, but if this is happening to you, it is probably happening to others. In my neck of the woods, it happens about twice a year, one RIGHT DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON! I have had to ship from another nearby post office during that time to get the package to go to a different sorting center.

Right now, the post office is being starved financially. It is all a political thing. I feel bad for the guy running it, because he is aware of the problems, but his hands are tied.

All we can do is try to find workarounds where possible. I'm fortunate that the post office about 10 miles away uses a different sorting center. So, when one is having a problem, I can use the other one.

No cause honestly it was a very low value item. The $2.00 shipping was more than the actual item cost. I just told them to keep it.

don't feel bad for postal employees, they are overpaid and under worked, and un accountable for their actions. en masse (not everyone, im sure some sellers out there make more) they make much more than us sellers for doing less work.
