How to use a P.O. Box Properly? Or not at all?
 

I've read three opinions so far on using a p.o. box

1. Its fine as long as you use the street address of the p.o. box and then include the po box number at the end.

2. Ebay doesn't like it when po boxes are used for registration (not sure if it matters if i use the street address ).

3. Use a resident address and then use the p.o. box for returns.


What's is the current suggestion for handling p.o boxes?

PO box for returns.
Leave off the PO if you need to. Just Box

I wouldnt even use the word box.
When I do use a PO Box I use the word 'Suite' - and I never had an issue getting any mail to the specific PO Box in question.

Were u using it to register or just giving it to customers who wanted to return

ok so you agree use a residential and then use po box for returns? leave off po? so even when I give the buyer the return address, i guess i wud just give them the street address of the usps and the box number?

simply add the PO box to your ebay/paypal accounts for returns.

Leave off the PO or Box too I guess just in case FedEx or UPS shipments.

ebay allows you to add a different address for your returns ? :heh:

Yes they do let you add a different address for returns.

I used the street address for the po box to register the account with no problem, other cases may vary I guess

did you have a 0/0 limit when you first registered?

I've used PO Boxes to open a new account. Used the physical address.

PO Info: PO Box 1234, City State Zip
Physical: 123 Main St, Suite 1234, City State Zip

Works the same and have received all 'undeliverables' without issue. If you are hesitant, send yourself a piece of mail using the physical address and see if you receive it in your POBox. That's what I did. Easy.

I get plenty of mail there already so i know it works. I just wasn't sure if I can use it to register for ebay and paypal

so i can have a resident address when i register, and then there will be another field for adding a return address and i can use the po box street address + box # there?

You can add a new address everytime if you wanted. Same as when buying.

Just click "edit"

Then in the future every address you have added it there.

I don't quite remember sure what my limits were, but they were higher than 5/50

ok so from what im hearing using the street addressing for usps is fine on ebay for registering and/or as a return address , can you confirm its fine for paypal too?
