eBay no longer owns paypal

EBay doesn't own PayPal any more...any one has any Input on how this affects making new stealth accounts and or having old ones? Is it a good thing or a bad thing

Tons of threads about this.

General rule is, zero has changed.

Others think it may be better and other think they have lost a bunch of paypal accounts because of it.

So, who knows? Nobody yet. Time will tell but I would not expect anything to change seeing as Paypal and ebay have a five year contract to share info and be best friends.

Technically nothing has changed. Change is mostly in legal and financial aspects. For example, now you can buy PP shares.

Re: eBay no longer owns paypal

it seems to be affecting some uk users, in terms of disjointed ebay sales data, and payments not being recorded by ebay, even though the money is in paypal.....

I've noticed a few specific web page designs/layouts have changed but that's about it

Ebay still owns Paypal there just 2 completely different independent companies.

Just like how Hewlett-Packard owns Compaq.

As far as any changes or restrictions I have not seen any yet other than some minor interface changes.

ONe thing I noticed is that it appears to be more difficult to make purchases, especially as a guest.

They keep on declining my transactions that are over $200 when i try ot check out as a guest.

They also do this if you have a new paypal account.

I guess they are trying to force you to have a paypal account and to build history which was never the case for me before the ebay/paypal split.

In my opinion more bad then good will come out of the seperation.

I guess people are not believers until it happens to them. Having 2 PP accts. that were just a year old is a miracle here and to have them both go down within a day of each other for no discernable reason is what? They are sorting through the apple barrel with a fine tooth comb.

It really depends on what you are doing Johnny.

Read my recent post, that should clarify things.

I dont know who johnny is, but I assume he had a bad reputation on this forum.

Johnny talked about the same exact things you have been and was a scammer. A few of us looked up his user ID(used the same one on the forums) and found a negative feedback sellers account selling jewelry, and a bunch of crap on a variety of forums about paypal and gold scams along with some real estate crap.

Well i wish i could get rid of that, label, I have no idea who that is. I just joined this forum out of frustration out of not being able to check out.

I buy old and hold it for a long time.

Ive bought gold 15 years ago when it was $500 oz, i probably have $300k-400k worth of gold.

I plan on being a very rich person in 20-30 years.

If gold touches even close of the price im thinking, and i keep adding to my gold I could end up having a net worth of 10+ million dollars.

I also have other investiments that i considered and added to that ammount.

I hope you are not that Johnny Character

Add silver to the mix. More volatile and more rare. I like silver. It is free for $14.00ish an ounce right now. I sold scrap silver in March for $11.00 so I consider bullion at $14.00 free.

And if you have that sort of money to spend/invest, I would be buying scrap and do a 30/70 split. Pull 70% cash and hoard 30% bullion. That would be 100% free gold and a pile of cash.

Yeah silver is definitely on my list, i dont have much probably 10k ish in silver.

Maybe I should be getting into that more, instead of the gold.

I have been googling like crazy trying to find what changes have been made, like possibly releasing funds after payment and feedback or something, but I have not found any new changes. :(

Non of that changes. Ebay/paypal have a five year agreement.

Re: eBay no longer owns paypal

Even after the 5 years it'll probably take another year of implementing new changes
