Business ebay account help please
 

So I have bought the book and read the forums, but I am still unclear.

So different username, VPN, CC, Bank account verified PayPal, tracfone phone #.

What I need help with is registering an EIN. Say I register my ebay as John Smyth, do I register the business name through the IRS as John Smyth and leave everything the same, or do I register the EIN under a name like DVDsforless and then change the name under eBay and PayPal?

the EIN is not important to ebay at all. It is on the paypal side. Most of the time we suggest selling until paypal requests the tax info around 15-17K or 120-170 items(average range) but recently a new issue has come up with the last 4 of the SS of the user as well.

Long story short, open up your ebay and paypal, get selling and after you know the account it healthy then worry about the EIN being added.

Open up your company with whatever business name you desire. Bednarekt marketing LLC or Joe's ebay sales INC or XRX5 Enterprises I suggest contacting your accountants with choosing what type of entity if you haven't already.

So the business name listed on the EIN and the name listed on eBay/PayPal do not have to match?

Forget ebay. The EIN has nothing to do with ebay.

For Paypal you will open a personal account and then when needed upgrade to business and add the EIN. Dont do that now in case the account does not last etc..

EINs are expensive. No need to burn them until you have to.

Be careful with tracphone numbers, two of my accounts that used them were suspended, yet all of my other ones survived.

You will find that almost everyone will say the exact opposite. That tracfone is the most reliable.

Hmm, strange. I do live in AUS and purchased them from a reseller so i may have been screwed over :/
