Does eBay make test charge on linked credit card?

I want to register a new eBay account. I have a Vanilla Visa gift card that expires in 2023 but only has $0.70 left. I plan to use this card to register with eBay. Will eBay make a test charge on the card?

The card might not be enough, they usually charge 1.00 and you'll get it back within 2 weeks.

The card will definitely not be enough.
Ebay and paypal both verify the card is valid by charging $1 to it. If you then look online at your statement you will see this charge as a pending amount. This pending charge will disappear within 4-5 business days and you wont see it on your transaction list anymore.
