| phichi | 08-14-2015 10:33 AM | Stealth Question Hello everyone,
I am fairly new here, have browsed around quite a bit and recently made my first purchase. Let me first say, I recommend fox20c, store is located here.
My question is... if the account was registered in a different state than where I live/operate, won't that raise a few flags? The VPN I will be using will be in NY (my state) and I will be shipping from here as well. Will this not be an issue? Lastly, the name on the account is a woman's name, if I were to ever have to call would that not raise suspicion seeing as how I do not sound like a female?
Thanks in advance for all replies. |

Wouldn't that require me to change the address on the account then?
Yes, this is why you should ask for sex specific accounts. | Well I imagine it is too late for that, do i have any alternatives? Aside from letting a female friend to call. |

just don't act nervous!
but ideally, you won't ever have to call :) |

If you don't mind I have another newbie question-- What is the best way to go about the whole address thing? I obviously can't leave the registered one in, I cannot use my home address or office address. I can use the new house I am moving into, but I don't particularly want packages coming there.
Give me your take on those dilemmas.
Thanks again! |
| burke | 08-14-2015 11:12 AM | Re: Stealth Question when you print the first label thru ebay I usually change it at that time I use a ups address close to the address that is on file but I don't require anyone to return items when there is a problem I usually just refund and say they can keep it so I don't ever actually get the box from ups |

but ideally, you won't ever have to call :) | You will eventually get caught, if you dont change the name later get use to sounding like a woman if you call in. I had a account suspended due to a rep asking where is the owner of the account, he did not believe i had a womans name. |
| ebayerOG | 08-14-2015 11:28 AM | Re: Stealth Question or, you can turn off auto-returns and print labels with a third party company like stamps.com
this way, you can have your real return address and something like "shipping department" as the name
one account can work with as many multiple stealths as needed :) |

Lastly, eBay would never actually see the return address right? |
| jeffweico | 08-14-2015 01:40 PM | Re: Stealth Question eBay does not see the return address on your packages unless a customer tells them what it is and that is unlikely.
You SHOULD try to get a VPN in the area of your stealth account next time, if at all possible. But it is more important that the IP is fresh, rather that what the location shows. IP addresses do not have a location feature built into them, they are only as current as the databases, and they are often wrong. So the IP showing up as being in another area is not really that big of a deal.
As to the gender issue, I always use androgynous names on my accounts. That way, a man or a woman can call in. There are TONS of such names. It solves the entire gender issue. |

Also, I am looking into the 24vc VPN service, hopefully I can get an address that is in NY. I would also then need to change the account address (eBay and Paypal) to somewhere in NY I'm assuming as well (after waiting about a week or so of browsing and watchlisting/bidding) I just don't see how this all doesn't raise any flags.
Again, thanks for all the help. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:03 AM. | |
