suspected scammer on ebay bought one of my items

so a person with 0 feedback buys one of my items, i am attempting to refund through ebay first but ebay sends me a message that they cannot process the refund. so i go on paypal and try to process the refund but on paypal it says that i cannot refund the person because the buyers credit card is messed up.

what should i do?

I do not want to ship the item out because obviously it can either be a scammer or a competitor trying to mess me up.

So because the person has 0 feedback they are a scammer?

Why do you think he is a scammer?

During past 2 weeks I've sold about 10 items to people with 0 Feedback, some accounts are only number of days old. The only thing I change with transactions like this, is that I ship the item tracked- Even if I'm losing money.

Not had one single problem with them, everybody pays and leaves feedback and at times those transactions are better than the 600+ transaction customers who don't pay.

Just because they are new, doesn't mean that they are 100% scammers. We all started from somewhere, either selling or buying. Don't discriminate.

It's because the transaction is under review by PayPal after 24 hour you should be able to refund him. I don't sell to 0 feedback buyer neither.

You people who are not selling to people with 0 feedback are absolutely nuts.
Guest users all have zero feedback and are 1 day old accounts. New ebay users clearly have o feedback.

Sounds like a really silly way of getting defects and loosing a pile of money. Holiday season is coming up and if you are refunding all 0 feedback accounts your defect rate will kill your account and your wallet.

Yeah. I suppose I will sell like for all of the year during the next 4 months.

Buyers are buyers, regardless of feedback. 0 feedback buyers can be a little difficult because they do not understand ebay/paypal very well, but many are excited to be buying on ebay for the first time and are extremely grateful.

I would never discriminate against 0 feedback buyers, everybody has to start from somewhere.

I agree with this statement - based on my experience alone.
I suppose it might have to do with the item youre selling as well though.
If I see anything suspicious though I explain the situation to the buyer and ask to verify them by phone before I send anything. Most buyers have no issues with this if you explain it to them politely.

I honestly feel that people sometimes exaggerate a bit on their titles when making post such as this one, such as "end of stealth" and others similar. There's always someone posting about the end of the world topics when really they aren't.
