How many ebay accounts to one Paypal?

I just opened one ebay and paypal maybe a week ago. Is it safe to open another ebay and link it to my paypal?

coopster72 12-27-2008 10:31 AM

Why not just open a new Paypal account to match? The further you can separate accounts the better.

With that being said, I have never tried linking multiple ebay accounts to one Paypal. Maybe 2 is fine? Maybe 3? Maybe you should wait until after 30 days? Maybe not. Anyone?

In my experience the safe limit is 2 eBay accounts.
But remember if 1 eBay account goes down the other will follow within 3-5 days.
So be extra careful with your data.

I have each component the same: one name, one paypal account one bank account. Nothing is shared, at all, in any way. Take no chance in having anything linked.

Why have 2 ebay accounts attatched to one paypal? The only reason for doing this is if you are wanting to have different product offerings for each seller account. Or have one account to buy items and one to sell. The only reason to have them both linked to one paypal would be to differentiate activities between the 2. When one ebay account goes down you will take the other with it.

There are VERY good reasons for having 2 seller accounts attached to 1 Paypal account.
Read the forum and you will learn why.

No, that is not that only reason.

I have 2 Ebay accounts tied to 1 PayPal, because if I get a warning for any reason from Ebay I switch to the other account for 90 days letting the 1st account cool and letting the warning expire.

My experience has been, 3 warnings within 90 days on one account equals a suspended account.

Yea thats what happened to my old suspended account. I just want to be able to sell on both accounts, maybe 2-3 non Vero per week.

yes, 1 account I stopped selling for a few days. I received an email early today saying my account was suspended, they removed all the things I sold... makes no sense. Why didn't they remove my listings while they were active, why wait a week or so after they have ended and close my account ?

The other two ebay accounts are still open. A matter of time before they get suspended I suppose.

oompaloompa 01-03-2009 02:31 PM

regarding, all your accounts going down, if they are all seperate ebay/pp accounts, they may not ALL go down. ok just my experience, i used to have about 6 ebay accounts in same real details, all with theri own paypals, when I got suspended some went down due to link with suspended acc but a couple didnt, why? my guess was ip linking, the ones I hadnt been on around the time of suspension were ok, the ones I probably logged in on same ip (before I new about ip linking) went down. I still have them but not used for selling anymore.

As for 2 ebay to 1 paypal, its a good idea in terms of not having the hassle of verifying a second paypal. If paypal in some of your real details, even better reason to keep it, so you can supply easy proof when you reach limits.

However if you sell vero, do not rely on one or even two accounts, go multiple.

audiosoft 01-03-2009 03:07 PM

I always logged in from my friends house. He never uses eBay... Only received that email saying all my listings that ended days ago were removed.

have been ended early and all fees credited to your account. Your listings were ended for the following reason:

* Account Suspension

Makes no sense to me, there is no explanation as why this happened ?

2 hours later paypal sends me an email saying they no longer able to have me as a customer. 180 days balance limited.

No way around this ? did paypal close me because ebay suspended me ? is there a way to know why ebay really suspended me ? I never had any issues under this account, nor did my auctions were removed while active. They just removed them days later after all payments have gone through and I received a few + feedbacks.

oompaloompa 01-03-2009 03:46 PM

no issues, no violations? Someone at your friends house use ebay? Most forum users know why theyve been dumped, what roughly are you selling?

just to go back a bit, HWGA replied to some of my questions re vero alerts. one other thing, say you get a vero alert and leave it 90 days, can you sell EXACTY same thing again on 91st day?I need to know that....

audiosoft 01-03-2009 09:48 PM

Never received any violations, just think eBay was monitoring my sales and they decided to shut me down as they items are quite expensive (software) no china news, all real with store receipts and company's return policy papers.

Not one did I receive any warning or anything under that account, they just waited for the right moment to close me, even after sales were made and even after feedbacks were put on my account. Weirdest thing.... could it be a competitor who took track of all my sales and reported them all at once ? who the hell knows, eBay is a sucker.

yaw1800 01-04-2009 10:37 AM

i think maybe its becausee ebay gets soo many reports that after a certain number of reports on a certain seller item, it just gets shut down. i dont think anyone actually sits and looks at the item (or at least not as much as they used to)

Nhan 01-06-2009 08:33 PM

So when you guys open new account, how do you surpass the SSN they want from paypal/ebay etc? Phone #/address/bank?

tar_baby 03-12-2009 09:09 PM

and you can't just change the email address on ur paypal account?

aspkin 03-13-2009 02:15 AM

Not since a couple years ago. :)

gooner90 04-03-2009 08:45 AM

unlinked?

What about if you have 2 ebay accounts different address both accepting payment to the same paypal address but neither are linked is this ok?

GreenBean 04-03-2009 08:49 AM

They are now linked. The common factor is the same paypal account. That
made a link
