Hello, everyone.

(So before I start, some information is missing and I don't have links because I left my computer on overnight with the tabs open and it randomly decided to install Win10 and I don't have it in my history anymore)

So, I'm not sure if anyone has posted/has new information but an eBay employee recently divulged some good bits. Besides this website, I look around on the eBay section of Reddit when someone mentioned they had a problem with eBay and it's policies. Then, a user along the lines of Jay23 who claims to work as a CS agent for eBay (also verified it, I think) said big changes are coming in the fall update.

He couldn't give specifics but when people pressed him for information he said it would be "good and beneficial" to sellers and "it's a very exciting time". He was really pressed in the comment section and replied to a lot of comments and really brought optimism. Take it with a grain of salt and if you guys want to look in the sub reddit then be my guest because I literally can't find the post anywhere but

I just received notice from two of my paypal accounts that my fees will be increasing October 1st.
I don't find that a very existing fall update LOL

You mentioned that PayPal said that? I think the guy on Reddit was a eBay Customer Service rep. 2 different companies now.

Paypal did not say it, they sent an email today to every account that had a volume discount that our fees are going up October 1st.

Okay but what I'm saying is that this person on Reddit works for eBay. As far as I know, what you are mentioning is PayPal and not eBay. It may have something to do with eBay but it is actually PayPal enforcing these changes. My information came from someone at eBay making changes to eBay...

Appreciate the heads up, OP, but a few things come to mind....

1. We have no way of knowing if this random Reddit person really is/was an eBay employee or just some teen with nothing better to do than troll the internet.

2. He's given absolutely 0 detail anyways.

So, long story short.....we know nothing. And now we have an entire thread dedicated to talking about the nothing we know nothing about. Fascinating. :noidea:

Starting February 20, 2016, the following will no longer impact your defect rate

Buyer feedback
Detailed seller ratings (DSRs)Returns requests that are successfully resolved with your buyer
Items not received
requests that are successfully resolved with your buyer

Defect rate is changing from 5% to 2% for normal sellers

And defect rate for top rated sellers is from 2% to 0.5%

But only in the US? Demn.

Wow, this looks Great, they completely changed the whole system.

Now you can actually operate and be rated like an actual store in the real world. Where customer service matters

As I recall if you go to any retail store to return something you go to CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This forum needs to learn how to be less skeptical. Told you it was coming... I also found the user who works for eBay. Currently talking with him now. Also, he said eBay left out some parts in the announcement. He is getting clearance on what he can share and what he can't right now as he is under NDA. I'll be updating soon.

Yay, now customer service will matter!

As now I can just refund and ignore, and get the same defect as PMing all the time, sending replacements, checking item quality by hand prior sending etc.

I consider the review of the DRS Process and Defects to be a major plus - Im tired of ringing eBay to get defects removed!

Everyone here has a right to be skeptical.

Your correct and it's a good there you were BUT this is the internet. Jeff had a thread about this in regards to shipping and we all believed it, because he supplied a link and he's TRUSTWORTHY. This update in nature is hard to believe, I wouldn't take it personal...

Exactly.

I'd also like to remind everyone to enjoy this while it lasts. Not too long ago, eBay had a similar update. The details were that cases opened against you didn't count UNLESS they were escalated to eBay. One update later and it was done.

This probably will last until the next Fall update, then be gone again. Enjoy it while you can.
