MC999 is a copyright violation policy, and a word of advise.... Avoid it at all costs because eBay is becoming so strict.

MC999 can be anything....It doesn't have a specific meaning. I've had MC999 - Limits Increase.

It's usually copy rights violation, I researched and most of the times it's copyrights violation.

No, an MC999 can be for anything. Yes, the suspension letters go out under that for copyright violations, but they are also for many other things.

For example, sometimes when you list your first item, you will get hit with an MC999. It has nothing to do with copyrights or trademarks, it means that eBay wants you to call in to verify some information. That one is not necessarily an account killer, it CAN be handled with a bit of finesse.

But good luck with the copyright violation MC999's. Unless you can prove you have a legitimate supplier, your account is HISTORY!

MC999's can also be for limit increases or decreases (yes, decreases CAN happen).

But either way, an MC999 is not usually GOOD news. It is normally bad, or neutral at best.

I don't sell on eBay anymore and it is all because of these weird and unexpected policy violations.

It seems that is something from the past, had MC999 very long time ago. Now they don't even bother sending any MC999 out, just MC113 without any explanations, and that's all.

MC999 is a pretty blanket MC that can cover a huge range of things. Just eBay being lazy

MC999s can be almost any alert from ebay, but it looks like nobody answered the OPs question. When account sellers say "new mc999 guarantee" it is a guarantee against the random mc999 that bans your account before an item is even listed.

I had around 15 accs killed in the past 6 months. Only 1 was killed with MC999, others were victims of MC113 / MC067. So I presume they are getting lazy in specifying exact termination details.

Answering OP question - it means that your account won't be suspended just after you buy it, or just after you list your first item.

Correct. The sellers who offer this (I am one of them) will call eBay to try to get past the limitation. If we can't get the limitation removed, we will replace the account. I think this is only fair.

The funny thing is - I haven't encountered such issues for almost a year, and all accs were selling risky vero things the first week after creation.
