Auto respond?
 

So is there any way of auto responding to buyer messages on ebay to say something like..

Your message is here, someone will reply in a bit?

This is just for the impatient buyers who will open a case if you dont reply in 5 minutes!

you can use the out fo office prgram but will have to update it on a regular basis
To turn on your out of office reply:
Click the Messages tab in My eBay.
Click the Change settings link on the top right side of the page.
In the Out of office email response section, select Turn my out of office response ON.
Select a Start Date and End Date.
Enter a message to send to your customers while you're away.
Click the apple button.

my only fear with this is that if a buyer looks on my listing, they will see i will be out of office until date X. so ebay will tell them I wont respond until so and so time. or despatch until this time.

This can be a slight pain!

Try this:

Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may need to sign in.
Place your pointer over the Account tab, and then click Manage communications with buyers.
On the next page, select the kind of email you want to edit.
Click the Add a message link.
Enter the message you want to include.
Click the Save button.
