| dazzawoo | 09-11-2015 08:48 AM | Guaranteed Returns Hi Guys,
i buy items from ebay listed as Faulty or Broken,
1 in 50 items i need to return as the seller has lied about the condition to try and boost the price.
i.e:
The laptop is fine it just needs a new screen!
we get it and there is parts of the mother board missing.
we return it,
the sellers gets defensive and says
'but i wrote no returns in description'
my reply generally essential parts of the device are missing therefore not making it the item you were selling simply parts of that item.
sometimes ebay side with me sometimes not
but a few times i have returned the item and THEN ebay have sided with the Seller! at which point the seller has the item and the money!
really frustrating!
its clearly a dark area,
but can anyone advise what category i can select and what i can say to get a Guaranteed return?
i even tried changed my mind and the seller was able to instantly select decline the return request and close the case!
each category in the drop down menu im assuming has different rules attached to it at the back end of ebay.
i.e if you select ive changed my mind it give the seller options to decline,m
if i select ive found a better price elsewhere it also gives them options to decline,
i need a sure fire way of returning these items.
NOTE:
i don't do this for fun or to upset genuine sellers,
i keep 99% of the items regardless of weather they can be fixed and resell them at a massive loss listing them as what they really are.
just some of the crap we get in can NOT be justified and must go back. these sellers are fraudulent liars not good honest people.
Thanks |

Thanks | Well, what I would do, is message the seller and tell them about it, and ask if you can return it. Which is being nice to them. If they say no, then open up an item not as described case. Ebay money back guarantee. Can't deny that.
Also, i can't believe a seller would decline a return. Pretty easy to leave negative feedback for something like that. |
| muzzie | 09-11-2015 09:10 AM | Re: Guaranteed Returns When the seller states "no returns accepted", it is a lie. As every item is covered by EB MoneyBack policy regardless the return options, you can safely ignore this statement. So if something is wrong, ask the seller for a resolution, and if he starts to refuse everything - just open a case, and you will have solid chances of winning it, if the item really has clearly seen issues. |
| solefoodbk | 09-11-2015 02:46 PM | Re: Guaranteed Returns This is different because when a item is sold already as "faulty" a buyer CAN get scammed and can be the scammer. If I was the seller I could EASILY beat any case a buyer had against me regardless of their reasoning...
If you list a laptop as sold as is, condition not working AND don't accept returns it is like taking candy from a baby talking to a eBay rep over the phone getting the case sided in "my" favor.
If you buy something that says SOLD AS IS and the seller wants to fight the case he/she can easily win it. Not saying it's right but that's the risk you take by buying these types of items. People sell stuff "as is" generally because they don't know how to fix it and sometimes don't even know exactly what's broken or where it's broken... |

Your best bet is to call in after you open the case and have the manually review the case and escalate it over the phone. |
| dazzawoo | 09-17-2015 02:33 PM | Re: Guaranteed Returns the seller managed to close the case without accepting a return YET AGAIN,
i know im doin something wrong here.
its in the drop down box where you select your reason for a return some of them will be solid i.e the seller can not close the case without making a refund or accepting a return
and some will give the options to DECLINE the buyers request
as a seller i get this popping up myself sometimes.
i just need to know WHICH reason to select to ensure these slimey waists can not decline my cases.
This return was completed on 16 Sep, 2015.
Here's what happened
16 SepThe seller declined the return request
Reason for closingReturn closed without refund
16 SepThe seller sent you a message

sorry i don't do returns unless there is a problem. | Have you tried explaining this to ebay chat??
I have won a few cases and had cases closed in my favor via chat.
Explain tot hem you returned the faulty item back and now the seller has the item AND the money, then also explain WHY you returned it.
Like : I know the item was 'faulty' but if you read the description it states it works fine, but screen is faulty. However when i received it, the motherboard etc was also missing and this was not mentioned on the description.
The more negatives you put in the case or to ebay the better your chances. |

sorry i don't do returns unless there is a problem. | Pretty sure you've been told how to do it. If the product is defective, choose the option that says it's defective. otherwise, it's a buyers remorse case. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:41 PM. | |
