China shipping

Ok I have searched for about an hour and cannot find a thread. I am wanting to import about $1000 worth of stuff from factory in China. (small ho scale trucks about 1200 of them) and am trying to find a cheaper way to ship, I can buy for 58 cents and sell for 6-15 dollars on Ebay. BUT and here is the big issue, they are quoting me like $1200 to ship. But if I would buy one they would ship free? So how can I go about finding a shipping agent in China. I have googled until I am blue in the face. Any help would be appreciated.

Find a shipping agent in the US that sorts it all for you. My shipping agent is in the UK. How heavy are they? I don't understand what you mean by 'if i would buy one they would ship free'. Heres a few:

What he means is, he if buys one they will ship for free. If he buys bulk it will cost him.

This is not unusual in wholesale.

The former free option, seller can send one by a slow shipping method.

That latter bulky and expensive option, seller needs to send via courier, which is more costly.

Buying small package items ship free from china usually. Buying big, heavy items cost a fortune.

I am not quite sure where are you located. Usually, near big port such as LA, NY, there are hundred of chinese importing company. You can search it, and they usually provide a more reasonable price.

The price seems +/- reasonable.

Price looks to be about right to me as well.

Ya usually if the shipping cost more than the product I'd pass but with that profit margin I'd be very happy. As long as they sell ;)

What the OP means is he can buy and ship it for next to nothing and get a great markup and do very well, but he either has no money, or wants them to ship it for free.

If the cost of purchasing, shipping and selling a widget is $2+/- and I make $12-$30 on the sale, who cares if the shipping cost of $1.20 is more than the item cost of $.58?

Problem us cost is $1. Shipping is $1 and sells for $4-6. Have to buy 1000.

Re: China shipping

There comes a point when you just can't get things any cheaper.

The logic of "I can buy 1 piece for a dollar so if I buy a thousand they should be a penny each" isn't the way the real-world works.

Either the margin is good enough to make it worthwhile or it isn't.

You said in the first post they sell for $6-15. Now you say they're selling for $4-6. That's a big difference.

The issue us not the product cost but the shipping cost. Regardless if I get 5 or $15 for them. I can ship from Germany for 35 cents a model. $1 from China 35 cents from Germany

Then purchase from Germany. What do you want us to say? That your shipper is bad? Several members have already stated that the shipping costs quoted are realistic. Accept it and order or don't.

Re: China shipping

Take "buy one"

If you buy bulk, usually you need to the import tax due to the quantity and the cubic stuff.

But if "buy one", first no import tax normally, 2nd, free postage, saves a lot. 3rd, max. 3 weeks from China to US.
