Catching stealthers in your niche?

Do you ever catch a stealth user in your niche?

Its not a niche exactly for me but I just sold a certain something recently and while doing research I found this seller..

Used same picture location and same brand,. Used same format auctions too. All same listing descriptions, it was obvious. This was across I think 3 accounts so I'd say its the same person. It was the first time I came across a stealth user, at least I'm 99% sure it was one.

Just thought it was funny, he/she makes ALOT of money doing it too.

I've seen plenty of accounts using most if not all of the same info.

All the effort that we all put into looking completely different lol and these guys sell 1000's of items per month per account, just fine

If I had 3 ebays linked to one paypal, I wouldn't bother with differentiation.

Don't envy the people who get away with it. Sometimes people can slip through the cracks and sell successfully not understanding how eBay works. But that does not always happen and these people can eventually lose their accounts.

I can tell you from experience, IT SUCKS to lose an account that is doing $5,000 per month. I don't lose many accounts, but when it happens, I feel like I have been punched in the stomach. It is not even just the money! I feel like I have let my family down, let everyone on the forum down, and begin to believe that God hates me!

OK, that might be a little bit over the top, but you known what I mean...

Having 3 linked to one paypal isn't good stealth imo.

They sell the same brand and run auctions the same way, I know they are stealth. Wouldn't make sense to have 3 accounts selling the same thing if they weren't stealth...lol

They make GOOD money too. I'm talking probably 4K-5K per account, maybe even more.

I know what you mean Jeff, and you sell USED books. Maybe not on the account that got suspended but its like me selling clothes, kinda. The market is HUGE, so its kinda hard to get linked by pictures etc. Alot of items in eBays and paypals eyes are deemed low risk, or just normal because they slip under their radar. At least thats what I think.

If its a laptop, they know the brands so its EASY to label it "high risk" knowing price points etc. Books, clothes, things that are in abundance can have a author or brands name and it can be so such a tight niche that eBay and paypal don't even know weather its a high risk item or not..So my point is the only way you get the SUSPENSION is bringing in to much money, most likely at least.

I'm sure theres thousands of thousands of users that just get pictures from Google or steal other sellers pictures from their listings too...

Depends on what your selling.

Thats only applicable to a percentage of sellers on eBay.

See them all the time, majority I see are using same address/details. Saw 1 yesterday, search 'urban decay' on ebay uk and theres a guy with 'pink retro 1' 'pink retro 2', he had a ordinary 'pink retro' thats banned now I think lol
