How many sells until you start upping sells?.
 

What are the factors. I know ebay will raise my limits to 1500 or 20 items. But does that mean I can actualy list $300 items with 10 transactions?. What's a good time to actually start meeting limits?. Thanks.

Good question actually.

I see ebay accounts for sale with 10/1000 and 50/5000 but not aged or anything. We know damn well that even though it says 50/5000, if we tried to list 5000 items spread out over a month, it would be suspended.

He is asking how cautious should you be with a new account. Like if he has 10/1000. How much should he list that first month being cautious. Im in the same position. I wanna list a second item but Im just not sure.

IMO, Ive found that NOT listing BUY IT NOW PRICED items works. List auction at 1 dollar. If it seems low, bid up your own item with a different buyer account.

what catagory?

I often start my accounts with $300-700 items But not in a category deemed risky by ebay or paypal and often used or as a store demo.

I list up to the number limit but well short ( less than half) of the $ limit.

I would not hesitate on using up all limits in terms of quantity and $ but make sure out of all that you only sell about 10-25% and receiving at least 3-10 feedbacks as how ebay looks at this is they compare the amount of feedback to the amount of sales. So, on new accounts when you start selling too fast they may suspend you as you have no history or feedback

No dont! I got my 1k limit account suspended doing that.

List 1 item then 2 and so on, or no more than 200$ a week per stealth until around 4 months.

Would 10 feedback and 2 month old account warrant 1500in sells?. Or do you think this is to risky?.

No one can answer this but you.

You have to learn by testing the limits. We ALL sell different items so anybodies suggestion is almost irrelevant.

Hopefully to all the members already posted don't take offense, I would assume you get what I mean. I know yankee sells gold watches so don't listen to him. :p

For instance the 1500 in sales could be from anything. Its not how much you sell exactly, its WHAT you sell and how you sell it. Unless we knew exactly what you sell (don't tell us) then its really impossible for anyone to tell you a good answer.

What is considered aged exactly?. 2 months?.

well, from being on this board a little time here..
i'd say 30 day is the minimum anyone can use as aged account and be legit.
2-3 weeks = slightly aged.. anything else is new.

Yes around that if you waNt to risk cheap eltronics or 3 or 4 for high risk and high end eletronics like beats .

Again an aged account is all relative.

If you were selling used books then you could start the same day if you wanted. If you were selling lots of printers you would need to wait and work them in slowly.

You WILL NOT get the answers your looking for because ONLY YOU can answer your questions from experimenting and learning as you go.

also, theres not really any difference between a 5 day old account with no selling history and a 180 day old account with no selling history

this question really annoys me for some reason. there is no clear cut answer for this. so many freaken variables are at play for each one of us. really just have to turn on your common sense...:ranger:

Before listing heavily like selling hundreds of dollars a day I would think you need at least 40+ feedback the more the better. eBay also likes an aged account that has not has issues in the past and will let those sell large volumes more easily.

I disagree. Feedback is irrelevant TO EBAY. What is important is lack of complaints, cases.

Again, it all comes down to what you sell, your customer service, so-on-and-so-forth like solefoofbk says.

I am fairly sure you have an idea of what I sell haha and I am pretty sure gold watches is not a great option for new accounts :)

By-the-way Mr. Solefoofbk, You seem to be doing pretty good for such a young Man. Lots of applied knowledge. You should be proud.

Aged really is relevant. How strong is your account? How great is your service? Have you verified everything possible? Have you upgraded to business on both ebay and paypal?

Age only starts at the first day of sale.

I watched a member on this forum destroy a nine year old BUYERS account with hundreds of feedback by simple selling hundreds of crap items the first week it turned into a sellers account. 11 DAYS and now below standard and my guess the paypal will be limited within a week.

The same member sells the same garbage on a 15 month old account 100% fully verified business account and has since day 1 starting slow with small selling limits and holds.

Everything comes down to how you sell, what you sell and YOUR customer service and skills.
