Buyer bots?

Are there ebay buyer bots of buyer software that i am not aware of?

I accidentally listed an ipod for the wrong price. About 10-30 seconds later the item has been bought. Check the guys feedback and his account has been registered for only 2 months and has over 200 purchases.

There are bots that could do scanning low priced items... not impossible to do.

I know of websites that scans for misspelled words.

Definitely possible. I can make one for you if you want, though I'm sure a lot of fine tuning based on experience would be highly desirable.

ebay offers API for anyone, so there may be bots, that download all listings from certain categories, scan for keywords and buy "tasty" items.
