Straight Talk Wireless Hotspot IP Addresses
 

Hey everybody, just wanted to give some info on the Straight Talk ZTE Z289L Hotspot from Wal-Mart.

Got it, tested it for a little bit, noticed the IP pool is EXTREMELY SMALL. It does give you a new IP every time you turn it on, but it's such an extremely small pool. Just in case you guys are looking to purchase one, beware of this in advance. Signal seems fine, but the IP Pool it draws from is TINY.

Hope this helps anyone interested in picking one up, and I'll add to this in the future with new information if I have any.

What is the cost. I pay 10 extra a month to have a hot spot with AT&T. Hard to beat. Also get hotspot on my phone for free. Along with my cable modem I have three IPS. Only using three accounts, if one gets shutdown I got and get a new cable modem, I tell Mediacom it stopped working. New modem, new IP. Works good so far.

Apparently they have two different ones you can get when you purchase, one that works off the Verizon network, and one that works off the AT&T network. They look very similar though. The cost is $15 per month.

Kajun, you shouldn't need to switch out a new modem for a new IP with your cable internet service, just unplug it for a bit, leave the house, get dinner, etc, come back and plug everything back in, you should have a new IP.

Good looking out

I highly recommend the the verizon mifis. The 3G pools are the largest available (to my knowledge).

I have a static IP. Never changes. Tried all that other stuff. Went on vacation and left unplugged for a week. Same IP
