Getting Repeat eBay Buyers
 

Ok, so I was thinking today about the value in building a list of all my buyers email information. If I sell a specific product to a customer, I know the buyer owns a certain product, so I can sell other products to that same buyer.

If I could build a list of 200-300 people and get 10% of these people to buy, that would be awesome!

So is there a way to capture email addresses from sales to start building my list?

PayPal has the email addresses stored. You can download a custom list that has that information on it. But BE CAREFUL as you could end up being accused of SPAMMING.

I enclose, with every order, a thank you note and a flyer for my website with a coupon on it.

I think that a 10% response rate is pretty high. More likely between 3% - 5% will buy something else. That might increase if you can constantly market to these people, but I have never done so because of the whole SPAMMING issue.

I have had people question me if I spam email, which I do not. If not careful one of these people can cause a HUGE issue if they complain.

If you do it through software like shipstation, it already collects data. I have got over 40k emails that I could use to do that and I will but that is only to refer them to my website later on. Also shipstation has promotion option, so when the customers receives your message when the order is shipped out somewhere at the bottom they will see few other prodcuts available from your store.

I may need to look into adding notes to my packages or the ship station option. I didn't think about the whole spamming thing though.
