| Chuckchamberlain12 | 10-20-2015 08:56 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? I've never had anything close to that. I've had some cases where the buyer and I have gone back and forth for 10-15 messages. But someone who is spamming you like that is probably a trouble maker/scammer. I would definitely block them. |
| dan_ebay | 10-20-2015 09:16 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? I had one on Sunday who sent 8 in around 5 hours, 'why aren't u responding' etc |
| yotano211 | 10-20-2015 09:22 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? I once had about a dozen from the same buyer, all of them repeats. He/she sent me an apology message the next day.
I only see trouble with someone like that. |

| QuickFlip | 10-20-2015 10:05 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? eBay buyers are special, sometimes god only knows whos on the other side, always best to just refund and forget about it, dont chase them replace them. |
| BigCJ | 10-20-2015 11:07 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? Any more than 3 messages and you are blocked. Before an after sale.
I answer MOST questions in the description and I let people know right out the gate that, unless defective/broken, I dont want to be bothered and will cover all points.
Stupid questions are an automatic block.
If im telling you that the item is brand new and sealed with 5 pics from all angles and you ask the same cr@p, you are some kind of special and shouldnt be shopping online. |

| Haidukken | 10-20-2015 12:30 PM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? jesus, where the hell do you guys find your problematic customers from! I hardly ever get more than 1 or 2 messages from a customer. When its big, big problem (Damaged by RM or signed for item that has been signed by a postman) then I can see 4 messages happening, but usually its no messages at all, or 1 if they just want to thank me for a good service.
I'm usually more inclined to send a first message with all the information that they need to resolve a problem and I most likely offer them full refund or 80% refund and they can keep an item. I just don't have mental capacity to deal with cases for days or weeks. Easier to move on and show customers that you are more than happy to give them their money back or cover cost of any problems that they might have ran into.
One good message can prevent a avalanche of messages in the future. Its like a cold- If you catch it before it gets bad the chances are you'll be over and done with within couple of days. If you don't deal with it, you'll just feel crap for next 7 days. |

| unity006 | 10-20-2015 12:49 PM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? In my experience if a buyer sends more than 3 messages it is VERY likely to be a problem buyer.
Therefore my practice has been for a while now where I add those to the blocked bidders list... Also I add all buyers who send anything similar to the following in a message:
"Can I return it if I dont like it"
"Why is the shipping so expensive"
"Can you please send me more photos" (usually I include atleast 10 for the items I am selling).
The best buyer I had sent the following messages. I dug em out of my mailbox for your amusement. This USA buyer sent the following messages:
Message1: "hey would you ship it cheaper to london to my friend if i win it ?
or you just make a buck on shippin?"
My Reply: "Hello. I can only send the item to the person who the account is registered to. If you live in US and this is your account I can only post to your US address. Thanks for looking, best regards"
Mesage2: "Wow pretty uptite my friend. Will see.."
*at this point I added him to blocked bidder list... immediately looked like problem buyer to me and decided to not post any further replies to him
Message3: "DID YOU BLOCK ME!?!!!!! I CANT BID ON THIS ITEM"
Message4: "YOU ****ING B*TCH. ILL SQUIZE YOU LIKE A ****KIN GRAPE!!!! YOU GONNA DIE ON THIS ****ING ISLAND OF YOURS"
I usually dont waste my time on reporting people, but I have repoted him and eBay actually closed his account the next day.... I was impressed... |
| jjohnson777 | 10-20-2015 01:19 PM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? 1% of customers send 99% of messages. I try to care about the other 99% than as have free time see to needs of the 1% got to baby.
I left hosting due to 1%. You know type think $5-6 a month entitles them to 8 hours a day support. After few months I refunded those type and thankfully few years later last of clients left. Best decision made as by focusing on my main business income picked up. Now see kiddies offering better hosting for 30 cents a month know made right call. Than see few months later they vanished and people say lost sites as had no backups. |
| yankee | 10-20-2015 01:27 PM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? after a certain amount ebay blocks them for the rest of the day. Have had it happen a couple times. I have no idea how many that is.
Buyer remorse customers during tax season are like this if you sell higher value items and of course xmas buyer the week before. |
| epimetheus039 | 10-20-2015 02:53 PM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? The more questions asked, the more you realize that something will be wrong with the transaction. I have had many of those however, I dont think I have ever gone over 15 with each |

My all time favorite was a buyer who paid me on a Saturday, asked me on Sunday why the package was not shipped out.....I had to explain to my special buyer that the United Postal Service did not ship items out on Sunday.....Needless to say I received 3 stars for shipping...lol. |
| muzzie | 10-20-2015 05:42 PM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? Like 20 in French, and then I got tired of translating them, and just started to ignore him. As he was not only using French but was extremely dumb as well, something like "I don't know how to use my item, teach me" |
| Burger Box Man | 10-21-2015 02:14 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? If a buyer sends me more than 1 message, i add him to block bidder list. Don't have time to answer all these question for £4. Just buy the item and never contact me again. |

| aking | 10-21-2015 09:08 AM | Re: what is the most number of messages you have got of a buyer? OMG, i have one buyer that has messages ALL of my ebay accounts for the past 6 months and still has yet to buy anything. He's always asking if I can hold an item until he "gets his check.".
I told him all I ask is for him to leave me positive feedback for holding an item and I will do it. If he doesn't purchase buy Nov 3rd as he stated, I will be blocking him. |
