Does age matter when you sell on eBay?
 

I sell cosmetics and plan on making a stealth account using my grandmother's information. The problem is she's 86 years old. Wouldn't it look suspicious if an 86 year old woman is selling a lot of cosmetics on eBay? Or does age not really matter? Would this attract attention from eBay and then they'd want verification or something? Thanks!

Age has nothing to do with an Ebay Account....Ebay could careless if your 100yrs old or 19, Not to be rude but I did laugh at first......Ebay/PayPal can ask you to verify your information at any time they want.

Cosmetics....your going to run into Category Limits in that area......unfortunately not even a 100yr old person is going to change that. Be sure to make a lot of accounts because the category limit is going to restrain you from selling more than 10 items a month.

When I had my last account, I sold about 400 cosmetic items in 5 weeks. Thats why I was thinking if I did use my grandmother's info it would be a bit weird or suspicious if eBay saw the amount I was selling as an 86 year old lol.

The best thing is to buy stealth accounts. I buy in bulk so it keeps cost down and now you have selling limit of 1000 with 25k limit.

LOL, I can already see it..."Grandma, Need you to call Ebay about raising limits"...Grandma: "You want me to raise the dead?"....No Grandma, "I need you too....nevermind"!.

You still have CATEGORY limits, regardless of total item limits, AND you can't go anywhere near 1000 items a month for at least 90 days or so without getting your new $300 digital expenditure banned.

Things change, nothing is set in stone. The reason you don't use family, friends anymore is the 200/$20,000 IRS issue. The last thing you want to do is involve someone else with the IRS.

Which categories are the limits placed on? I was able to list 400 quantity in "screen protectors" but not any in consumer electronics before it started asking me to verify personal information.

Textbooks, electronics, MP3 players, videogames, etc...

Any high value or highly counterfeited item, basically.

There's a limit for health/beauty/cosmetics, right? Do you know what it is?

The forums are filled with lots of valuable info. Finding it is the difficult part.
