Ebay address different than my location

I'm located in California but my ebay stealth is in Georgia. My problem is when I shipping an item to east coast for large items its lot cheaper because it thinks I'm shipping for east coast but If i ship west coast price jumps lot higher.

Is there a way around this besides actually going to postal office or ups shop through ebay. Can i put shipping from california on ebay will i get in trouble

I am always putting my town in item location as I get some buyers who collect items themselves.

If you are using eBay shipping I think there is a "mailing from" option somewhere which you can put the actual zip code of where you are mailing from.

I recommend stamps.com or endicia though. I use a single stamps.com account for all of my stealth accounts. That way the return address is correct, and I don't have to lie to eBay (and worry about them finding out) about where I am mailing from..

Why not just change your address on your ebay and paypal accounts so it is closer to where you are actually shipping from? That way you get the correct postage rates automatically when printing your labels.

Do you all not worry about the buyer seeing that the package is being shipped from an address other than your registered address? Wouldn't the honor roll ebayers report that? I would at least make sure it's an address in the same zip code your shipping from and that it matches the address on your ebay/pp registration. If you do returns, it might be a problem but I would be scared that they would report it. I put on all my auctions that there is strictly no returns because I can't list my return address since it was previously linked to a suspended account.

since the account is only 3 weeks old. would it be risky changing address to west coast from east coast? stamps.com sounds good but its so much easier through paypal than putting info all over again.

I usually just type Shipping department on the top with the address i have access to.

There is also an option where it says shipping from and there is an option for typing in a zip code.

If you live in a large City it won't really matter, most mail end up in a Major Hub for shipping.

Your address on eBay and your IP location, mailing from location, etc are irrelevant. I have eBay accounts listed all over the US, and I ship from one location...I have IP's from all over the US, same thing. Never had any issues. Stealth is NOT that complicated. eBay doesn't analyze the millions of accounts for every tiny detail...stop being so paranoid.

That. I even use US IPs for Canadian accounts etc.

You might wanna use an address you have access to. If for some reason the item gets returned due to non delivery or not enough postage, you will never get it back.
