Why mobile data network internet connection?
 

Hi All,

So i've been doing some reading on Stealth Accs etc.

It would appear that most people recommend using a mobile network internet connection (USB Dongle etc) and not a VPN.

I have three simple questions relating to that.

1. Why not use a VPN? Is it because they can easily be identified as cloaking mechanisms?
2. Why mobile data network? I noticed before that multiple users have the same IP address. If that is the case then a load of users have the IP and eBay and can't diffrentiate/link users? Or is it becuase you get a new IP every time you connect, and you just reconnect everytime that you're switching accounts?
3. I have setup a test eBay account on Amazon AWS using an AWS IP Address? Is this bad? Will the AWS IP be an issue, will eBay identify that and flag my account?

I am going to be having a bot running in the future for repricing my eBay listings and accessing the API to run reports etc? Will this cause any issues for me please?

1 - Proper VPN/VPS are absolutely fine to use for stealth. You have to be sure IP assigned is a brand new one. Free or cheap services are not good.

2 - mobile data network is fine. Keep your cookies in place and try not to cross use IP adresses between accounts. Never ever use pubblic wifi or similar (like hotels or university internet access)

3 - don't know what you are talking about... sorry.

1. VPN is fine as another member stated as long as it's from a service that doesn't heavily recycle it's IP addresses.

2. It's just easy for most people.. off/on = new IP address.

3. AWS IP address is easily identified.. not a lot of people are advanced enough to go this route so there aren't a lot of reports of whether this is good or bad but I can tell you AWS IP addresses are easily identifiable and in that case it's not good for eBay/PayPal long term but that's just my opinion.

Yea I figured that would be the case for AWS. Should be ok for running my experiments.

Oops I meant Amazon Web Services.

I mean using a virtual machine on Amazon Web Services. It's like having your computer running on the internet.
