How to increase private seller limits ?!
 

Hi all

New member here !

Getting increasingly frustrated with eBay so found myself here desperatly needing some help advice

I currently have a 100% feedback score (230) on eBay - had it for 3 years , all linked with PayPal etc .. All been running fine ...until recently I have started buying stock in bulk for resale and hitting a brick wall with selling limits!

I am only entitled to 100 listings a month and regularly hitting the limits within the first 2 weeks of the month..

I have tried to contact eBay and ask them to review my account for them to suggest a business account which would increase it to 200 a month - which still isn't great!!

I don't want to commit to a business account, having to pay extra fees etc , this isn't a full time job so certainly don't want to go down the route of a business account and regretting it!!

Is there anyway round this ?! I don't want to buy a high limit account as I don't want to loose all my feedback I've built up for my stock .

Help! I'm loosing money by the day with these ridiculous limits !

You don't have a choice. You either increase to 200 items or you don't and stick to 100.

You won't get higher limits than that. In the long run diversifying is the only way forward and that may mean running multiple higher limit accounts.

OP, if you are reselling items for a profit as opposed to selling bits and pieces from around the house then you should be operating a business account.

Whilst it is possible to get higher selling limits on a personal account through automatic increases, ebay can get a bit anal when you phone up. They look at the account activity and see you are clearly operating as a business which is why they aren't granting increases unless you upgrade.

In addition to what Callidus has said, you have three choices:

1. Upgrade the account and get a higher limit
2. Keep the account personal and open stealth accounts.
3. Upgrade the account and open stealth accounts.

(2) or (3) would be my choice. ;)

Are there any major cons to opening a business account ?

And once I'm trading under the "correct" account in Ebays eyes am I more likely to have my limits increased if I am hitting them every month?
