I did NOT call from the phone number on the original account but the phone number I used is not connected to any eBay accounts so not a blacklisted number

I've used this number for multiple calls to eBay/Paypal without a problem whatsoever

and it was around 5-6pm EST today, Tuesday

I'm just pointing out the IDEAL circumstances.

I doubt you'd be given an auto-increase option if the system can't automatically "verify" you're ID via the phone #, but this is just a THEORY.

I'm trying to help people get the BEST CHANCE of getting increases without talking to any humans, based on my experience.

Of course, you're free to use any phone # you wish. These are just suggestions. :)

How do you spoof your phone so the number does not pop up on eBays caller ID. I have a google voice number I know its not recommend now but when I created the account thats what I used.

We need to experiment this with like 100 accounts before we jump to any conclusion here. At this point it looks like the automatic limit increase - totally random

Sometimes you will be lucky, and on this instance you were incredibly lucky

Nothing all that special about it. All it did was save me 15 mins of time I would have spent waiting to speak to a human being.
