Ebay limited my relisting to 30 days due to copyright

Why did ebay limit my relisting of similar items for 30 days due to copyright. and should I not list under this account for a while?

Two part answer: because they can and they do limit lisitings for this frequently.
Second answer: Yes, leave the account alone. Look at your item carefully. Once the account is marked, you may have troubles later.

Have you done any research on the information everywhere on this forum?
Have you read anything in this forum?
Just basic questions?

I myself have made MANY post about the 30 Day Limit issues with VERO items.
Do a search for the information that is ALREADY on the Forum instead of creating new threads on the same topics.

They limited you to crack down on illegal items from being sold.
You have to build a reputation on selling successfully in that category that you are limited in and receive positive feedback for them in order to raise your listing limit after 30 days.

You can still list in other categories if you want for different items. This will not hurt you.

Hey quick question, regarding the original post, what if I received the limited message on say a dress shirt, would that not apply to a different sub category such as sport shirt or polo shirt? Since they are different categories. Also what if no "official message or strike" to inbox on Ebay, just the limited on listing message? How long should one hold off from listing the particular item that brought up the "limited message"?

oompaloompa 09-10-2009 04:55 AM

if same brand, doesnt matter about catagory, avoid that brand for 90 days

kuntrykok 09-10-2009 12:38 PM

even if there has been no email from ebay? This was only a thing that popped up during a listing, no warnings or emails have been sent to the account and nothing is posted on the dashboard. So I am wondering if it's just a 7 day bot type warning going off keywords??

oompaloompa 09-11-2009 07:41 AM

oh sorry I thought you meant a takedown, the limited for 30 days message when you try to list? It wont allow you to sell that brand for that period - iit will stop you when you try and list and the message will come up and the listing will not be submitted, another brand will be fine...

kuntrykok 09-11-2009 06:14 PM

Thanks Oompa, how about taking one or more keywords out of the title? I have done that in past years, and it worked fine back then, I would say the bots are looking for the brand that is in the title. If I remember correctly it used to not state 30 days and after about a week or so, you could go back to listing the same brand / title. Thanks again.
