You used to have to opt out repeatedly on this bs, too.

I know I'm bad for not reading this hole tread but...I've been getting Global emails from ebay with one or two a day sales shipped to the US somewhere.. I never agreed to this. How did this happen?

Basically it goes to the pocket of eBay and that one customs broker eBay partnered with. It's ridiculous, and I haven't bought a single item internationally since they implemented this system. eBay sure knows how to shoot themselves in the foot to be honest.

eBay pimping the service.

Ebay pimped the service!!! I wonder who gets pimped on returns...I don't offer international shipping. I may have to do a special 'collect back' procedure on ebay. So desperate they are now that they can't hide behind PP profits.

Well they wanted to make international sales seem easier by pimping the global shipping service, and filling their pockets with cash at the same time.

Its quite possibly the WORSE thing ever. Its another money pot with no responsibility scam by eBay and Pitney. Trust me. I had to FIGHT over almost 100 emails and involvement from all the ebay community forum advisors to get the money back for a poster than never arrived. Or it 'did' arrive, yet Yodel signed it off as delivered, when in fact it wasnt.

Buyer can not open a Yodel claim, seller has no responsibility once it hits Pitney, Pitney and Ebay refuse to acknowledge any problems.

Avoid it. Its easy to ship internationally, and more reliable services.

I didn't read this entire thread but what I can say is its always best to eliminate the middle man when it comes to stealth. It is very expensive for buyers also. I don't see anything positive from it to be honest. I ship internationally without using global shipping.

The only good thing is we are protected from scammers. I'd just not ship internationally ..offering global could only really be good for people selling HIGH RISK and EXPENSIVE items. $500+

I use it for international sales, but unfortunately it is a very expensive service for the buyers. For some countries it will cost more than the item itself. Problems is 90% of the time you ship international the tracking won't show up after leaving the U.S. I've sent some items to France and Germany using priority mail (not flat rate priority) and they do get to their destination but at the same time customs hold the items to collect duty tax or whatever. I will probably opt out of the global shipping scam on the new year and just use prority mail for international orders.
