IP Issues Need Some Advice

I have Verizon Fios an i was able to release my Ip an change it but not sure if they cought on an blocked it i called them an they said no but it will not change it is Dynamic not Static i tried to purchase VPN but i cant them to work i have linux 14 an my OS must be out of date an i dont know to update it. So i was thinking of just replacing my modem so i can just change my mac address to get a new IP just not sure what modem to buy i dont wanna buy one an it dont work i Really need to resolve this issue cause i have 5 accounts im working an cant do any business untill i resolve this.

You spent the money on a VPN and gave up on it? I'm not familiar with Linux but usually if your computer is capable of connecting to the internet, it can connect to a VPN..

Taking the "new modem" route is a hassle. I would look into configuring your VPN. That's just my $.02

Or if your having so much trouble configuring a VPN with that OS why not switch to a more user friendly OS like Windows or a different version of Linux?
