doing business outside of eBay

I'm sure someone of us have been doing business outside of eBay by exchanging email or phone number on eBay messages.

Is that dangerous? Anyone have bad experience of it?

Recently got a red flag on eBay message when I tried to reply a buyer's offer, it says "you are trying to do business outside of eBay, please remove the information" etc, etc.

Before it is just a yellow flag.

Got paranoid.

Anyone had the same issue like that before?

It's risky. You'll risk the eBay account if you get flagged too often.

Sure there are creative ways to do it, but they all carry an unnecessary risk

eBay wants their 10% cut if you're using their marketplace to make $$$
