New ratings and Top rated Seller status system

Hi,

Opinions on the new rating system? I am particularly interested in the discount available.

I doubt I will get the 20% discount any longer because my stuff is custom made and hard to get out the door in one day to earn the discount. That being the case, and since my stuff has unique titles and therefore search position isn't much of a consideration, does a TSR really really matter? My feedback is perfect.

I am asking because I am thinking about going "no returns accepted". These are stealth accounts and any (couple a year out of 2000+ transactions) go to bogus addresses and become losses at $40 a pop. At least for the rare return they have to go to me and I can send a shipping label to my real address.

With returns not accepted I think I lose TSR.

Just remember the "No returns" is really 30 day return policy per ebay.

I was just about to say that even "no return" means actually that you still need to accept returns. Whats even better, you will most likely lose a case if they escalate it even AFTER 30 day period.

eBay, where common sense goes to die.

There are some restrictions on returns if you have a "no return policy". I know if it is "not as described" the seller loses. But if the buyer is foolish enough to say he changed his mind or some other "non-seller-goof" then the sale is final.

This new system sucks. I had one-day shipping so I could get the discount. I only had to print the label within one day. Usually shipped within 2 days anyway, but definitely didn't ship 90%+ in one day. But I still got the discount on fees. Now the tracking has to be uploaded by the USPS (in my case) in one day. I can see lots of problems for sellers and ebay. My post office doesn't alwasy get stuff scanned for some reason. Now what will ebay do when you ship but the PO drops the ball?

My TRS accounts don't offer returns.
