Default rejecting returns

As I see, if a customer opens a return request after 2 months, another action appears in the request details - "Reject return request". If used, what can the customer do after?

It seems that you've not read what I've written. I am the seller, and my customer opened a return request 2 months after the purchase date, and along with all actions in the request, there is is an option called "Reject return request". If I hit that, what can my customer do?

They may well open up another case saying item is not as described

Have you asked them why they want to return the item?

NAD request, some issues with the item. But if I accept it and refund, I will get a defect. So, maybe I should try to refusing the return, and instantly refunding via PP, so customer will get his money back and I will avoid the defect in my seller stats?

What I do in these situations is bluff a bit- Why not? The case is opened, they will get grumpy anyway so why not give them a bit of bluff and when they crumble, just call it a day but if they don't crumble, just ask them to close the case and throw money at them.

Usually if something doesn't happen right away, but a customer opens a return 30 days after the purchase, I will just straight up say that I don't care and they have had the item for a LONG time. I even tell them that I'll just get eBay involved because usually the customer "is not able" to provide images and without supporting evidece, I just crush them.

BUT, if they call my bluff then I just throw money at them and say that they are right and I'm wrong, customer is the king and what do I know anyway.

Nice one! My method is pretty straight-forward though, I just tell them that as the case is already opened, the only way to resolve it in a friendly manner is if they close it with a reason "Case opened by mistake" and I instantly refund them. Otherwise I will get a defect, and will loose any interest in helping them as it does not matter anymore, as I will still get the defect, so I will accept the return and will make it as slow as possible, so they will be refunded in 2-3 weeks, not in 5 minutes. Usually, it helps to avoid problems with even the worst customers.

Met many nasty buyers on eBay agrees with me to close the case by "by mistake" but they eventually choose the "other" option...

Money refund and defects still left.

Just wondering are you able to see what option did they chose to close the case? Thanks

Yes, when they close it, eBay will send you a message and it will tell you why they close it.

Haha, he said that is his standard procedure. I swear some people here only read the first few words in a post before blurting out a reply..
