Returns Question

Ebay is useless so I have to ask you guys ...

I almost always offer a 14 day return on all my items.

Okay so say I'm selling a t-shirt and I have a 14 day return policy BUT in my description I state I will not accept a return if it "doesn't fit". If a buyer then opens a return case or asks to return it can I deny the return or do I have to accept a return for any reason under the sun no matter what?

It sounds so silly if I that's the case because its almost pointless for any seller to have a return policy if its just return regardless of the reason.

For the record when I called ebay they told me that I have to honor a return for ANY reason regardless of MY policy. I've seen sellers get negatives for NOT accepting a return BUT having had stated why they won't accept the return and the buyer either didn't read it or just was pissed because they "couldn't return it."

Re: Returns Question

Clothing is a subjective item.

Truly, unless a garment is tailor made for a client, there is always a great risk of fitting failure.

With the dangers of accounts being donged by upset buyers, I refund always. Now for some items I supply them made to measure... And have the occasional hassle but still refund.

I have found that doing this I have seen the same cranky buyers return to purchase.

I win.
I refund.
ebay likes me.

:peace:

Re: Returns Question

you have to accept the return within your return time frame for whatever reason. You have an option not to accept the return when you list an item.
This only applies to the return initialed due to buyer,s reason. If buyer opens a return which indicates that item is not as described, you have to accept the return regardless of your return policy.
In your case,i suggest you accept the return, because when a buyer opens a return request indicating size does not fit, shipping fee will be paid by the buyer and you will also not get a defect. Some buyers even close the return when they figure out that they have to pay shipping fee to have the item returned to the sellers.
You are just lucky that the buyer is honest about the situation,if he opens a return case indicating item is not as described, you have to offer shipping fees to have it back.
