Ebay Seller limit increase. What should I do now? Upset. $1000 to $1200
 

Ebay member since 2012, seller account last 3 years

Everything is perfect. perfect feed back, Above Standard ratings, never had a chargeback

My limit now is $1000/10 items

Called Ebay hoping to get an increase and as soon as the lady picked up I knew I should had hung up because she sounded like a b *tch

Anyways she ask (demanded) what i will be selling and I said same stuff as before. i fix/repair things and resale. It can be anything.

She put me on hold comes back and says she will increase it 2 items to $1200!!!!!!:mad::mad:


Should I call back again?
IF I buy a Ebay /paypal account from here with a 5k limit when I accept payment wouldnt my paypal get limited?

I'm so upset now

I would've hung up and got a new rep the moment she said she could only do that high of a limit increase...

Unfortunately you will have to wait 30 days until you can get it increased again

they will have that phone call on their notes or recorded.

Wait 30 days and hopefully sell to the limit and it should be lifted.

NO
You would have to start low with a stealth account and build it up slowly listing low risk items to begin with.

It always helps to spread out over multiple accounts, and have some back-ups for incase they restrict/limit your account?

I denied the increase. I told her nope, keep it I dont want it, I'll wait :nono:

I knew she was going to be a jerk the moment I got transferred to her


What happens if say i have $200 left in seller limit and I do a auction starting out at $5 and the bidding goes over my seller limit?

Its not even a stealth account. Its my main account since 2011 10 item/1k limit

I usually just sell what ever I dont need anymore around my house or my old cell phone and electronics or what not


When they ask what will you be selling what do i say?

You mentioned purchasing a stealth account on here, that answer was in regards to that.

When they ask what will you be selling: I guess you say that, personal possessions I no longer use, or stuff picked up at garage sales,

Otherwise they may well ask for invoices from suppliers.

very unlucky to have this happen to your real account as well, was the account inactive for a longtime? god I hate eBay...

Nope not inactive but I had 46 transactions this year for a total of about $4500 and some buying of goods

So will the 20/1.2k limit have a big impact, i.e you have more than that to sell over the next 30days?

$4500/12 = $375/m

Basically my items will be higher priced now and its not 20/1.2k , the girl said 12/1.2k lol. @ more items a month

@OP - You would save yourself a whole lot of frustration if you just spent the money on a 1000/25000 account from the marketplace on here. There are several reputable sellers with high-limit USA accounts. I've purchased several and they work great, and you'll never have to worry about your puny selling limit ever again.

They probably only gave you that tiny increase because of the tiny amount of sales on your account. On Christmas day I had two accounts bumped from 5/500 to 20/1500. The accounts were only two months old but I had maxed out the selling limit both months. That's the key to getting your selling limit automatically bumped up.

Honestly with the type of things you sell, you probably wouldn't even need a 1000/25000. You could get an account with a 500 item limit and it doesn't sound like you would ever come close to that.

Thanks , I have now figured it out

I didnt know the limits applied to the starting price. The final bid can go over the limit. The limit is only the listing price

I was worried because I had a item that will sell for around $2500 that i wanted to list but now I know I can list it as long as the starting price is below my seller limit of 1k. Now I have only $50 left for this month or so. So I will have to srat a $250 item with a starting bid of $50 and pray it ends with a price close to $2500 which i think it will. Its a macbook :faint:

I was responding to your original question about how to get a higher selling limit. It's not a good idea to go past your selling limit by such a dramatic amount though. I once had 40 listings removed and my selling privileges revoked because I went over my item limit by 2 items.

Its impossible to go ver your limit as Ebay will not let you

good luck, i'm fairly new to stealth and this forum known about it for a while but Phaz0rz is an established knowledgeable poster, I don't think I have come across any of Phaz0rz posts that are not helpful.

Ok bud. You're right.

The account had been linked to my original (suspended) account, and as a result the selling limit was reduced over night from 2700/15000 to 0/0. But the account wasn't suspended and none of my listings were pulled. So since they didn't pull my listings I left them up. Two sales later, the account was suspended for going over my selling limit.

If he DENIED the limit increase, I think he would be able to call back and see what another rep says.

Make sure you have no return requests or anything going on. Respond to all messages, leave feedback for buyers, process/ship everything before calling in so you don't have multiple items waiting to be shipped... just make your account look as best as it can so when they "run it through their system" you might get a better result

I did besides leaving feedback for the buyers but everything else was spotless.

Okay well for one if this isn't a stealth then why don't you just verify your information threw database and get the standard 100/5000?

Assuming you already knew that and choose not too you can always call back and say your selling different items. You can say you plan on selling vintage dishware. Last time I said that I got some random 48 increase along with 2K-3K limit increase.

You should be able to get double your listing limits, so in this case 20/2,000. If they give you a low number again just say tell the rep that its an actual policy for them to double the increase if your account is in GOOD standings. Obviously this is rep dependent so its not wise to argue but it IS POLICY for them to at least double your limits when you call in, as long as your account is in good standings.

I called back. A nice dude gave me 100/$5k limit! YAHHHHH

I did have to verify public record data which was odd. lucky me i used real info

I get best automatic raised limits when selling in various categories!

I have a 3yr old account with 10/1000 and I sell same category 10 items every month. Never get increase. however, I had several other 10/1000 limit accounts also about 2-3yrs old. I started selling 10 different categories every month for 3 months and now they all raised above 180 / 13500

That is strange how 1 account gets it but not other

Now I need to figure out what are some small items to sell quick to just to get the increases
