Will my eBay get linked by shipping location?
 

Hi everyone,
I have some eBay accounts at the moment and when I ship the item to buyers, I found out that the location (city,state,zip code) of my shipping location was all displayed on USPS tracking page. I shipped my items by a shipping service near my place. So my question is, if there any chance my eBay accounts got linked by shipping location?

The registered addresses on eBay are all different right? If so then no you should not have any problems.

Yes, the register addresses are all different, and also in different states, not near my place. I just wondering if eBay/PayPal will care about that, as they could see some accounts' orders are shipped from the same ZIP.

I personally don't think they care about a zip. It's just a zip and people are allowed to shop stuff right. As long as you don't get linked, or have an abrupt shift in selling you should be fine.

The only problem you might have is sometimes people ask why it's being shipped from another location, I usually just tell them I'm out of town no big deal. If you want you can always change the location in the listing or you can always change the address once your account gets more established.

Thank you guys so much for the helpful answers. So basically, I'm now feeling more confident that accounts couldn't get linked just by the zip code of shipping location which are displayed on USPS Tracking website. Happy Holidays & Happy New Year to all of you guys!

every zip code will have many ebay users....They can not link from a zip code.

related question: if you have a stealth account that is, say across the country from your real location, won't it create problems when doing calculated shipping instead of flat rate shipping?

If my stealth location is in California and I'm in South Carolina and I'm shipping something to Utah, that would create a problem, no?

(I mean for a new stealth account that I haven't had a chance to or is too new to want to risk changing to a closer address.)

I operate accounts in US and I ship from Canada - as long as customers get what they are expecting....I have not had complaints /experience example

Sorry if unclear, not create a linking problem with eBay, I meant with USPS.
From the purpose of paying for USPS shipping, (if you are paying for and printing postage labels through eBay/PayPal)... they are calculating postage from zipcode 99999 and you are actually physically sending it from zipcode 55555, maybe it's going further zones than you are paying postage for... can this cause a problem for you with USPS?

For regional boxes, yes it does effect postage costs and you can have a problem with USPS for shorting postage.

very true if you use the ebay postage you need to put the right zip shipping from to get accurate costs and avoid issues with packages BUT that in no way will link you
