Do eBay bots get smarter?

After banning around 50 of my accounts, it been much harder to list the item that I am currently selling. Do the bot memorize my images and description? I am just copying pasting from my competitors yet my competitor listings are still up but they aren't new accounts like mine.

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

They can catch on to patterns, it's good to have more than one device, ip source, products etc. to switch things up a bit..

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

They are probably just tightening security around the product you are trying to pass off, like they've had to do with Beats and other high-dollar commonly phaked stuff. Older accounts get grandfathered in.

Or, something is wrong with your selling strategy. High risk listings are possible if you know what you're doing.

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Take new photos, new background, new description. DO NOT copy other sellers descriptions, buyers catch on to it and are leary about buying when they see this. It is easy to put things in your own words.

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

50 accounts is a bit excessive. Sounds like they are banning the item. Are you getting MEC notice?

ithelps 01-03-2016 05:45 PM

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

I have only noticed this started happening after i sold like 98 of these item in under 24 hours so i think ebay got stricter after finding out that i sold so many.

But also i been listing a lot more than i used to. Maybe i should lower my quantity. I havent changed my photo because i spent a lot of time on it but i guess i have to now.

I only get a notice of my account being restricted. Some suspended. My items are kind of high risk to ebay i guess.

Photos for sure. I have more accounts than 50 and didn't have that type of problem.

The bots are only as good as the people who wrote it or programming it. Ebay can modify their bots and can teach their software to learn and react.

So the best way is always to act different for each account.

Correct, at least when you start you have to look like a new seller, browsing...If you look or act like a pro seller....ebay can react in a negative way.

Copy pasting from competitors is bad sales policy - :nono:

Doubt this was bots. Copying another listing is not wise.

The custom template didn't help either. Ill try to make myself look like an amateur. People better not reported my listings

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Sounds like metadata linkage from the photo's you are using - always best to use your own and never mix then on accounts

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

are you selling 98 items the first day you list?

Trustfund 01-04-2016 01:36 PM

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

98 items a day, thats insane. i say its a combination of linking through metadata of photos, copying other peoples listings (which people will report for obvious reasons) and maybe the product your selling.

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Bots don't get smarter, people just don't adapt to the game quick enough and get complacent then moan when they're behind with up to date methods

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Yes, 98 item sold before 24 hours. And then account restricted. Ever since, ebay been banning my acc that goes live for 6 hours. Now up to a couple of minutes.

So I tried your method guys. I tried with a diff pic and description and title. account restricted in a couple hours. Same for no picture and original description and original title. Account restriction in a couple minutes after live.

lol.. Damn, I'm out of ideas lol. I got too greedy, should had just ended the listing. Ebay don't want me to do good.

Do bots ban listings or do actual human manually ban high risk item listings?

WAY TO MANY SALES the first day. Professional sellers get banned for obvious reasons.

If you have 100 item a month limit, RAISE YOUR PRICES so you only sell that in the whole month or LESS

What do you mean raise my price? Do you mean raise my price and sell less in quantity?

because im pretty sure if my limit is 100 item per month, I can't go over my monthly limit. But I have in the past, but i think it was a glitch.

But also, it's kind of too late now since ebay is catching on. I've been doing bad in this one category because of me showing off. eBay is getting on my nerves and i am spending too much on proxies.

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Sell 5-10 low risk items for 3 months and gradually work your way up from there, it's not that hard unless your desperate for cash.

I'm more impatient. I am also currently aging some of my accounts but 90 days is a long time.

For no restriction, eBay told me 25 FB, 90 days, and $500 in sales. Is that correct? Because 2 years ago, I think they told me the same thing but I had an account that sold less than $200 on one item and after 90 days with no feedback, it had no limits and was consider a trusted and non "new account."

brandnewboss 01-04-2016 04:38 PM

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Then split it up, have some accounts aging 90 days then have another set of turn and burn accounts..

yankee 01-04-2016 04:47 PM

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

sell 30-50 items the first month. then ramp up to 100 if they are low value. Run multiple accounts selling smaller amounts. Cycle through the sales.

Selling 98 items the first day will get EVER account limited. If not ebay then paypal.

brandnewboss 01-04-2016 04:51 PM

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

It takes me 90 days just to get a 30-50 item per month limit

Sounds like the OP sells 98 items the first day of selling so I am guessing they have a limit of at least 98. :boink: just joshin ya. kinda

Accounts of all sizes can be made OR purchased ;)

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Do you recommend me splitting up my paypal accounts? I currently have them split up but that's a lot of paypals to manage.

Also, when I sell this item, either when the item is sold out or I manually end the listing... ebay can still detect what I sold and get my account restricted for selling the item.

On older accounts, it takes them longer to catch me or they just don't care but for new accounts, they still remove my listing from my selling history even after I sold the item or the listing is not active.

I feel like the eBay bots are getting smarter or eBay hired a bunch of humans to manually search and delete this category of listings.

Also, the reason I am getting restricted for this item is because of putting in the wrong category. I do it because this is the only category where I can get sales, if I put it in their "recommended" category, then my sales are bad since everyone else puts it in this specific category.

And you would think that after a sale you are safe, and when you end the listing you are 100% safe but no. The ended listing and sold listings lasts for 60 days in their system. I've tried deleting the listing active, draft, sold, and they still detects my orders for mis categorizing.

Re: Do eBay bots get smarter?

Sounds like u r totally linked. I have probably more accts than that, and maybe had only 5 accts restricted over the lifetime.

Your plan is letting you down.

ebay perceive you are some overseas seller pretending to be a real US seller.
