Add new paypal to existing (good-standing) ebay - feasible?
 

Ok so I'm being forced to consider my options for what to do if I cannot attach a new bank account to my existing paypal, because so far I've not had any luck. I haven't given up yet but it hasn't been going great. I have accepted the fact that my next payment to my supplier will have to be done through paypal which will add a lot of $ in fees. I'm just hoping I will be able to send a payment since I've NEVER sent a payment from the account, only withdrawals.

All of my eBay's and paypals are in good standing, none of the paypals have any limitations. 2 of the 3 have EIN attached and are Top Rated Plus accounts on eBay. Would it be feasible for me to create new paypals with the same EIN's + business name, but with my new bank account attached? Then just change the paypal address on all of my listings to the new Paypal?

Again, all of the accounts are in good standing and I'm not concerned about linking since I will be abandoning the old paypals if this works.

Please let me know what the wonderful members of this forum think about this...

That paypal will be instantly linked to the old paypal. Paypal will most likely call you and ask whats up.

You really have an extremely common problem. Just wait it out and/or call paypal. It is no big deal at all.

i read a previous post that was about creating a paypal business account in the same name as ebay id and this may work

Linking old eB to new PP and such nonsense and re-using old info sucks in the long run.

I appreciate your continuing reassurance Yankee. Just when the pressure becomes too much to bear, you come to the rescue. I'm hoping for the best but planning for the worst. Patience is wearing thin. Had to pay my employee today and I'm burning through $300 a day in postage. I don't have the original phone number and I'm nervous about calling paypal with a spoof app.

I really wouldn't care if the new and old paypals instantly became linked (I would expect them to be when using identical EIN's), since I would have no use for the old ones. I hadn't considered Paypal's potential reaction though. I would hate to go from receiving inaccessible funds to receiving no funds if they were to limit the new paypal.

Anyway I guess I will try it as a last resort before abandoning the accounts. But for now I will continue being patient. I didn't try to add any bank accounts today because I've been trying for the past 3 days, and someone recommended waiting 2-3 days between attempts. If anyone has any tips for increasing the chance of success, please feel free to PM me.

I have two big linked paypal accounts. Sometimes they even get mixed up when buying/paying. They are completely separate for receivables. They have different contact numbers etc.. Same tax info.

Now these are decade old accounts, handled a very large amount of funds over the years and I can pretty much do anything with them. Gift large payments. Instant bank transfers even international etc...

BUT when I created the second one in 2005 it was a HUGE problem, got a bunch of funds held until they talked to me about what my intention was. Now this was also a time when you really were not supposed to have more than one paypal account. Maybe it would be different today.

As for adding a new number, I have done this successfully and had the old one deleted but I am not at all nervous talking to paypal. I told them my office I was in had no cell reception so I used a internet phone number but since have gotten a new number with a service that works and let the old internet number expire.

They could ask for some docs but I highly doubt it because you are tax verified and have handled a pretty decent amount of money with little or few issues.

becareful doing multiple attempts adding a bank account or bank card over a short period.
This can cause a limitation to be triggered.

old ebay new paypal works don't listen to all these guys that say it doesn't just take it easy for a little bit.
