Buyer asking for return before receiving item? Any suggestions?

Hey there guys, I just woke up to another headache. A buyer bought an item from me on Monday, and I shipped yesterday with USPS First Class. This morning I wake up and I saw that he started a return stating the the item is Foo Foo?? The thing is he hasn't even received the item yet, and it isn't Foo Foo either. I am suspecting he might have won another auction for a lower price since this item sold a little over MSRP.

Any ideas what I should do in this case? Thanks!

Reality is there is nothing you can do apart from accept the return.. you can try to contact ebay with this info but you will be waiting your time, accept the return and protect your feedback

Can you try call the post office and ask them not to deliver the item?

Seems like someone wants a freebie.

Accept the return and have the buyer send it back. I would also send a message to ask him why he is cancelling if he did not even receive the item. I think it's good to show documentation (in case it escalates). Then after you receive the item back, isse a full refund. As others said, not worth arguing, buyer is always right on eBay.

Exactly this is best solution . .

Yeh that is the conclusion I came to. I will try contacting the post office first to see if they can return the package because the buyer is acting very fishy, and I don't want him switching the authentic item with a foo foo one.

Anyone know if the USPS would do that? Never had to deal with this before.

I doubt they can do it. UPS can though....

You'd have to pay to have it 'rerouted' back to you
or I believe you can call it back depending on where in its travel it is.

Contact the post office right away.

If it has not left your Main Hub it can be retrieved....I believe the post office calls it a "trace".

Well here is what happened if anyone else happens to run into the same problem and stubbles on this thread. I had to file a Intercept Package request through USPS.com which cost me $19.51. There is no guarantee if it will work, but according to the post office lady I spoke to when I dropped off some packages today, it should get intercepted if it hasn't been dispatched for delivery. I will post an update if it works, but basically if the item you sent out doesn't cost much, just take the risk and have the buyer return it.
