Raising and Lowering Limits

I opened up a couple of stealth accounts a year or so ago.

On one of them, I started out with small limits, I built it up slowly and got it to 120 / $6,000. Also a TRS

I wasn't really using up those limits at the time. Then I got an email from eBay saying that they lowered my limits because they needed some more information from me. They decreased limits to 90/$4,500
In the email, they want me to contact them and I assume they want to ask standard questions about what I am selling. There is a link on the message that it says to click it so they can review the selling account/ request to list more. However, if I click it, it always takes me to the option to call them and talk to them. I definitely do NOT want to call them. I'm not selling anything risky, just simple generic stuff.

Recently though my sales have gone up, I even opened an ebay store and I really need more limits. I have used up my limits 3 months in a row.

Has this happened to anyone else? Have them raise your limits and then lower them? If I did nothing and just waited, is there a chance they would raise limits again??

If you're not selling anything risky, why don't you want to call them?

I'm running 2 stealth accounts right now and a 3rd that I am starting on. On my other stealth I have a $50k limit. I think I have been doing everything right as far as stealth but I am scared to call them and have them look into my account and find something.

After my real account got suspended a long time ago, I started using my sister's account to liquidate inventory. They were clearly linked, and I did not take any serious steps to hide it. However I was able to go on for almost one 6-8 months, until I decided it was a good idea to call to raise my limits. That's when the rep saw some interesting things and banned that account too.

I am scared of the same thing happening.

Got you, that makes sense. However, if you set everything up right and they are not linking, you should be OK. Remember, eBay LOVES sellers to call them. I think it builds trust.n Just build a few more stealth accounts and you'll have the higher limit you desire. Rock On!

I created an account, the selling limits was 1000/50K.
But the other day,i received a message saying that they wanted more info from me and decreased to 5/500.
Now,it is still 5/500,it was really better that they could give me 5/500 at the start.
This made my heart from the sky to the ground.

Thank you. I'm also worried about getting accounts linked by selling the same thing on a different account. I am just hoping they will increase my limits in the coming months. But I didn't know if it was something that they would do if they decreased them

Call them, you'll be fine. There's a thread in my sig that goes over, in great detail, how to talk to an eBay rep.

There are also a dozen other threads with similar advice on calling eBay. It's really NOT hard. They just ask you 4th grade questions like:

"Where do you get your items from?"

"How do you ship your items?"

"Whats the email address on your account?" (I'm not kidding)

Seriously....just grow a pair and call them.
